    Stick or Automatic?

Do you drive stick or automatic - what did you take your license with? Did you take it with automatic and at points was unable to drive a friends car due to it being manual...? Did you get your license with an automatic and learned manual later?

EXACTLY! If you "drive" an automatic, you're not actually driving, you're simply steering!

So much this! I like to be one with the car, and usually, manual cars are more economic if you drive them correctly.

Manual. I do believe that's the norm in Belgium. People who drive automatic are less prevalent.

That doesn't' mean what you think it means

I've got my license on manual. I drove both manual and automatic but I prefer manual by far. Automatic is more comfortable but I'm not that old yet.

As long as I get from point A to point B in a good amount of time I could care less about having to shift every few minutes. I'm not crazy about cars like most people and I really don't understand "car language". I would maybe like sports car one day, but even I will drive that automatic lol.

Learned Manual first. Driving an automatic now. Either way is okay for me, but I don't drive a lot now anyways.

I dont get why people dont all learn manual and then proceed to drive manual or automatic depending on what they want - because if you drive manual you can drive auto but not vice versa..

always driven manual just gives me more control of the car and the throttle

This, hands down. Personal preference obviously, but I like the extra engagement.

It's apparent everyone who voted in this poll doesn't have a daily 30-mile commute in bumper-to-bumper traffic.

Stick for the weekends or in areas with no traffic.
Automatic if you have kids or ever drive in traffic.
