    10 Man - Spine HC

    Hey!

My guild and I started progressing on Spine last night. We were using our Paladin to tank the bloods whilst using a DPS trinket to help on the Tendons. When we were reaching the downtime just after the 2nd Plate - 1st lift and the 2nd lift on there, he was always dying to add damage.

He seems to think that due to him turning his back, he's just getting hammered by the adds which is perfectly viable but overall I think we have too many adds aswell. Any suggestions? We'd prefer not to take him off Tendon damage considering he did 1.4m over 3 lifts which seemed to help us alot.

I guess my overall question is; How do we get less Bloods? Should we be aiming to have the amalgamation explode before the 2nd grip?

    Thanks alot!

have him work on his positioning so he never gets hit in the back ?

About bloods, you can get rind of some by making the 3-4 amalgams that pop after you get rid of the 1st plate eat some bloods before the barrel roll. potentially up to 32 bloods can be eaten ( 4 amalagam stacking up to 8 each).
But honestly you should just tell yours raiders to get used to it, in p3 your pal tank will have something like 50-60 bloods on him anyway.

In our raid we usually have the amalagam explode just before the 2nd grip, so that dps can switch from it to the corruption, kill it, and then switch back to the tendon just as it pops up.

On the second plate the amount of bloods you have should be almost nonexistant, and the ones you do have should be getting cleaved down almost as fast as they are popping up. There is no way a tank with even hots could die to the amount of bloods at this point; it is pretty much a guarantee that he is facing his back to them if he is taking any heavy damage at all.

You should kill the adds of every time you are about to roll Spine.

This is how we do it

    Kill tentacles
    Announce where we will roll
Stand in the middle of DW
Kill as many adds you can.
    Roll Spine.

Killing adds doesn't remove the problem it only delays it until they get back to there holes. We also use a pally tank and we just get rid of the bloods on the roll. What we do is before a roll we kill the extra corruptions and what bloods we safely can kill without killing us. We then use the newly spawned amalgs to soak up what they can without hitting 9. When we roll the amalgs take the soaked bloods with them and remove them from the fight. Done right we reset the blood counter on the first roll and get rid of most of them on the second. As a result the earliest kill our tank has ever had to start kitting on was right before the second pop of the third plate.

How to deal with blood in 4 easy steps:

    - Assign one person with some good AOE (we used a frost dk) to constantly DPS the bloods together with your blood tank throughout the entire fight. Yes, just keep killing them. It will keep the blood count low and manageable, even on the third plate.
    - On every barrell roll make sure you AOE the bloods (with some raid cds to avoid dying) and roll them off together with the 3 amalgamations you'll have.
    - Make sure the blood dies as stacked up as possible so you can absorb more than 9 whenever you blow up an amalgamation.
    - Make sure the tendon burn phases are within 1,5 min, or else you will get overrun.

If you do this right, you should have very little blood at all times (except during the transition to the third plate and at the very end), and your tank should be able to simply tank the blood without much problems until the last tendon burn.

Our kill vid for reference, you can see how our blood count pretty much stays low through the entire fight. Same day as the 5% nerf became active.

Edit: Oh and you can't have your tank turn his back to the bloods, he will die in seconds. If you absolutely need his DPS on the tendons, it is essential that he positions himself accordingly so he can DPS without getting hit in the back.
