Are Hunters weak in PvP?

Hunters have traditionally been strong in BGs, and that's still true. If you want to step into the arena, run triple DPS and enjoy your T2.

hunter is all about teammates, if they can get the shit out of you then the class is fine, viceversa you'll end up doing shit damage, failing CC and an insane time being out of focus

If a hunter doesn't get targeted in arena? He will kill you and your entire team without hesitation in 3s. In 2s? Can't do enough damage to kill a healer. BGs? Gods. A hunter gets targeted? Pet can mitigate some of the damage. Pet is dead? hunter's dead too. You can't dismiss a pet if its dead. You can't summon a new one. You have to revive it first. Then dismiss it.

Or you could abandon it... But who wants to train a new monkey after every arena to keep a few ready?

Hunters are the least represented class in RBGs AFAIK. Granted, warriors are probably only higher because of flag carrying.

It isn't that we are weak it is just that our mechanics are poorly designed and sloppy.

Simply put, we have to play harder to compensate. We can get gladiator or rank one.... it is just 20x harder for us than, say, a rogue.


It isn't fun being in that situation.

Whatever you feel about hunters now, they are better in MoP.

And Survival may actually dwarf Marks for PvP. Won't really know until a lot of testing has been completed.

Good points :
- Good burst, insane burst with the BM spec
- Good CC, but it still sucks that we often have to use a CC ability to use another CC ability correctly (yes, scatter shot + trap)
- Hard skill cap but if once you know how to play, you might be able to get into a 1vs3 and win

Bad points :
- LoS, especially in arenas, making these not fun to play
- Good survivability but still waiting for more self-healing or a way to dispel dot
- Focus regen is a bit annoying sometimes
- Hard skill cap, you always have to anticipate what your opponent will do if you don't wanna die which can be freaking annoying at some point

Conclusion :
- There's still room for improvement but it's reasonable to say that we're not the worst class in pvp at the moment
