a few weeks ago, i've decided to embargo myself on books and DVDs, simply because i've such a backlog of entertainment products to watch/read/play:
books:
i'm currently working on part 8 of the so far 12 released books of the Sword of Truth series;
i've got the complete Admiral Thrawn trilogy to work through;
i've got the book versions of assassin's creed 2 and Brotherhood;
i've bought the first book of the diskworld collection 2 months ago, but haven't yet started in it;
i've got "Sofie's world" by Jostein Gaardner and "over the rainbow" by Paul Kustermans";
DVD:
autumn last year, i bought the "best of British comedy" collection box, with Benny Hill, Tommy Cooper, man about the house, george and mildredd, and Rowan Atkinson. so far, i've seen 1/6th of Tommy cooper, less than 1/8th of Benny hill and Rowan Atkinson, and have yet to start on man about the house and George & Mildredd;
i've got the first season of X-Files to still work half my way through;
i've only watched 1/3 of the first season of south park;
i've got the pillars of the earth that i haven't even unboxed yet;
i've got a 20 DVD box of national geographic that i haven't even watched one DVD off.
at my current pace, the books will last me another 2 years (since i only really read in the car and in bed), and the DVD's are worth about 2-3 weeks of non-stop watching day and night. and this year, AC3, HotS, D3 and MoP are also fighting for my attention, although the next one of these is likely D3 in May. I simply don't have enough time to watch this all.
I'm fairly sure a number of you are also in a similar situation. so, let's hear it. how big is your entertainment backlog?
