And i am going to say it but where are NAACP and civil right people when a black person murder a white or non-white person is a double standard and i know MMO will not agree with me but is the truth and we all see it and the worst part about is NOT EVEN DECLARE AS A HATE CRIME !

I commend the man for being willing to take a stand on the subject and wear the thing, but I also can not find fault in the Speaker for his actions either. In this case, I think both people were doing their jobs. It's the job of a congressman to represent people, it's the job of the Speaker to enforce the rules. I guess I'm not entirely certain what the big deal is.

There are no rules against wearing hoodies when on the floor. There IS a rule against wearing hats. He broke the rule and refused to remove the hood when it was demanded to be removed by the speaker. When it was obvious that he was not going to follow the speaker the speaker said he was no longer recognized which is his job.

Why would the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People want to push for further prosecution towards a black person?

If I thought this guy cared...I'd commend him.

Unfortunately...he's a politician. So I believe free publicity, and capitializing off this kids death, is a more likely motive.

You mean, all those black guys that kill us poo' white people and never get arrested for it?

Because lookit all dem people in dem prisons. Ain't hardly none o' dem black. Black people get to go around murderin' people an' never get arrested for NUTHIN'!

Oh wait. That's what's happening in bizarro world. Here in reality, when a black person kills someone, they get arrested. That's the issue. If the kid would have been white or the guy who shot the kid would have been black, this would have never made national news because someone would have been arrested for stalking and killing a child. You'd never know about it.

Any one who is charge with a serious crime they will many years in prison or even death penalty and they get what they deserved

I want to clarified something before the hate crime laws came into power is would be prosecutor would make a formal charges and that person would go to jail depend how many years and the victim would not get no justice but now we have this laws in effect for state and federal but the state prosecutor will look at the fact and even thought there is strong overwhelming evidence of the crime with the hate crime attach to it they will not prosecute it because there was nothing racial or bias but it but is can still be prosecuted at the feds level for a civil right violation and can also fail

but still there must be improvement and to that day that where i stand hate crime is hate crime no matter what but when a black kill or rape an white or non-white person it not label at a hate crime but when the roll is reverse and it is "double standard" and i sorry if you disagree with me but that my view i am not a racist or bigot but is the system............

    And i give an example

Me as a disabled person and i am in public and someone made a comment about me and call me " lazy or cripple " i would take great offense to that but if i defend myself by defending myself that person is just looking for a fight and if i get assaulted what do thing going to happen

the person would be arrested and charges will against that person but not a hate crime " even though it is " they will prosecuted it and that person will do few years now if they attach the hate crime they will more years i think up to 15 yrs

He didn't get kicked out because of the hoodie. He got kicked out because he was ignoring the direction of the speaker. Tax money shouldn't be wasted on showboating and breaking rules. If he wanted respect for his opinion, he should expressed himself within the framework of the rules.

Now, in front of the media, that's where you become a circus clown.

  17. #17
What he did was certainly against the letter of the rule, if not the spirit.

I think he should have been allowed to continue.

This was posted before and got locked. We have a trayvon martin thread allready, use it.

I thought what he said was good, untill he started shouting stuff about.. his god?

Sorry i thought it was about Trayvon Martin, not religious deities, if he had of stuck to his topic, he wouldn't of made himself look like a fool

Edit: clothing shouldn't matter, it should be what he said that matters. And for that, he should of been asked to keep religion from the government, isn't it a rule in America?

Regardless of what he was doing, that attire is inappropriate for a place of business or government office/building.

My boss would have sent me home to change, so should his.
