    Healer refuses to heal

Im just curious if anyone else has run into a situation like this. I queue up on my lowbie prot pally and use word of glory fairly often, especially since Im talented for it so its hard to waste the heal. Anyway, after just two pulls the healer refuses to heal me and says that since I like to self heal, he doesnt need to waste his mana on me. I had to lay on hands and pretty much pop every CD because he tells me this during my third pull.

Anyway he decides hes going to heal some random DPS instead of me so Im forced to turn off righteous fury and DPS in a tank spec with a shield. Has anyone else run into a healer like this, that gets pissed off for you using WoG?

Wow. As a healer I love when tanks self heal. Then I can rejuv you then check on MMO-Champ.

Not since 4.0 when WoG was introduced. Your only opinions are to stop using WoG (you don't say your level, so I assume you don't have shield of righteousness) and let them heal you, try to kick them, leave on your own (after first boss so you don't get deserter), or continue to dps as prot and just let them heal everyone since they're so inclined to do more healing.

...wow, thats shitty, i dare a healer to go off on me for rune tapping.

That healer has no clue what he's doing. It's a blessing when a tank can and is willing to heal themselves so much. It makes our job so much easier.
What I hate about lowbie runs is when a dps thinks they should heal or tank. Or when there are two pallies with rf on and the dps refuses to turn it off.

I personally like it when people use their abilities to do whatever they can to help the heals out. Low content isn't difficult to heal by any means, but it's great practice for tanks especially to get used to their survival abilities and use them as needed. If the healer got mad at you for that, then they are just a sorry prick that wanted to cause drama and act like a three year old. The only time I have ever refused to heal is generally when I get a tank that is not tanking properly...like this one time I que'd as healed on my druid and was in a deadmines run with a druid tank. Well they didn't have any talents spent whatsoever nor did they have the tanking specialization selected. First boss fight the tank gets on shotted. I told the tank I wasn't gonna heal til he spec'd into his tank tree. He did so and we had no problem from then on throughout the dungeon.

Aside from cases like that, or where the tank just decides to have a poor attitude and I just decide I don't care, then I am always healing regardless.

A self healing tank is a wonderful thing. Better than a non-squishy tank.

That healer should have common sense. It makes the entire run work better with a self healing tank and dps that is smart enough not to stand in every damaging environmental effect.

The best thing you can do is /w healer and then ignore him. You will never be grouped with him again.

You shouldn't even really need a tank until maybe around Scarlet Monastery.
I'm gonna let 'em know that Dolemite is back on the scene! I'm gonna let 'em know that Dolemite is my name, and fuckin' up motherfuckers is my game!

I was level 70 so I was using SotR often, but I have the habit of using WoG if I see my health drop below 80%. Any overhealing becomes an absorb anyway and aggro is far from an issue, so I figure why not. I didnt want to just leave, it felt like that made him win. I ended up having to heal myself for most of the run though, even as a DPS. Id get some splash healing here and there, but any AoE damage Id have to back away and holy light myself so I didnt die. It was pretty shitty.

Sorry, I just call anything below 85 lowbie stuff so that may have led to confusion about this being level 35 or whatever.

I've seen tanks who stop tanking because the DPS refuse to wait, and I've seen healers who refuse to heal said DPS, but I don't think I have ever seen a healer refusing to heal a tank because they were using WoG. When I'm on my Pally I usually have people thanking me for self-healing.

When a dps is causing wipe after wipe after wipe (in 50 and under dungeons) I'll warn them and if they proceed, that's when I'll let them die. But I'd never let a tank die. To me, the tank and the heals are the "parents" of an instance. They need to take care of each other and make sure the "kids" "behave".

At least I see its not common for healers to have this attitude. Its not like I was casting heals on myself while tanking, I know better than that. I really have no idea what his issue was, but I guess Ill just shrug it off and hope he was a rare type.

That's horrible. But yeah I've seen healers refuse to heal for various reasons, happens every now and then. Some people are just jerks.

Man I remember one time I was on my Prot warrior and by pure chance I got into Well of Eternity with an old friend of mine on his Holy priest (alts, so we were just in crappy gear). The three dps we had were the most horrible people I've ever queued with, by the time we got to Mannoroth they had all just started trolling and refused to either dps or leave, just sat there spamming insults at us. So we thought what the hell and pulled the boss and we completely 2manned him while the jerks were saying "lol gl with that boss fags". The funniest part was that I was tanking him next to Mannoroth for cleave and blood and thunder, and I accidentally dpsed Mannoroth so much we got the achievement as well :P

This. Dual screen setup basically means when I'm healing 5mans, I'm barely paying attention. Self healing tanks make this even easier.

I wouldn't stop healing the tank for it, but I can somewhat imagine it's annoying when you already severely outleveled the content.
Although that's because I'm at a 402 ilvl as holydin and already sleep through just about anything.

I'd much, much rather have a tank in greenies who DOES know how to play his character.

Some people just ain't meant to be healers. Try to kick him, leave after first boss and tell everyone the healer is bad or simply go afk. Do that enough times, and the bad healers will eventually get the point and start to heal or swap back to dps.

never refused to heal tanks myself, but leveling lowbie healers i have asked a pala not to wog, or a feral bear not to HoT himself between pulls, to test myself out.
refusing to heal is just bleh...wth
that was ages ago though, heh

that healer was indeed bad just like everyone is saying
Still I cry, tears like pouring rain, Innocent is my lurid pain.

So a healer signs up as a healer and refuse to heal... I would say thats one of the good uses of the kick button. I would have booted him in a heartbeat
