i'm lvling a prot pally atm also and honestly from 15-50ish i usually ended up with more healing done than the healer. never had a single complaint about it though.

Never saw healers like that, by that logic they shouldn't heal BDKs either. Just politely explain situation to your group and if healer continues bitching just votekick him for better.
haha, you people are so funny. All those responses from a max level view... you're probably the ones pulling one mob at a time in a level 24 dungeon.
Low level prot paladins don't have any way of spending holy power except on word of glory, so it's better to heal yourself than let it to rot, also consecration is mana hog, so you're pretty much forced to use seal of insight to not go oom, which can make some healers feeling useless and angry, if you're bored just tell tank to pull more mobs, it's a win-win
Ok, running 5 mans is supposed to get you used to working together as a team and get you used to what you'll be facing in a raid. Your doing the correct thing by using WoG . Like Cudomix said above there really isn't anything else to spend your holy power on until you hit 85 and get the 'Shield of Righteous' spell. Even at 85 you'll want to be used to using WoG as a self heal in tight spots.
If the healer is upset because you doing your job is making the content boring for him he needs to find some other way to get badges. If he's at a very high item level then he probably doesn't even need badges.
So...keep on going. You'll die, then the mobs will come to the DPS/healers and kill them, and it will be the healer's fault for refusing to heal you.
Promptly votekick.
Awww, person who doesn't know the meaning of the word "troll". That's fun.
He's right, mobs don't really hit hard until Scarlet Monastery or so; you can tank in DPS spec/gear for the most part.
