While I'm all for the use of fiction to convey a message or specific point, I don't really put much weight into using fiction as proof of how things actually work.

It's a nice speculation since if a zombie apocalypse happened resources would eventually run scarce.

Your first point about religion is completely wrong. I'd go further into that but it's prohibited for good reason on the forums.
The fastest way for peace ironically is always war. It definitely has the most obvious repercussions, but it's the certainly the fastest method.

Either a great disaster forcing all nations to work together and start again, or a tyrannical dictator with an army strong enough to crush every border. If there are no more borders, then there is no more war. There will be small uprisings but nothing that couldn't be quelled. We are all Earthen. Animals do not do it for fun or greed or religion...they do it for survival and in numbers that would be replenished the next breeding season. This also keep the populations of various animal species in balance where as humans breed like viruses and kill in large numbers for a few bits of paper and shiny metals.
