Am I the only person that does this?

When I see a game trailer I'm interested in, Or even if im at my local game store, just browsing, and I pick up a game to look at it. As soon as I see the big logo "EA" on it. I instantly think "SIIIGH".

It's like some sort of thing in my mind that has developed over time, I see the logo and I associate it with negativity.

Does anyone else know what I mean?

EA doesn't bother me as much as Activision does. But when I look at Bobby Kotick's face, it gives me the rage of a thousand suns. So I guess we relate.

But really I've come to the point where I just don't care who makes the games anymore. There are bad games, and there are good games. I play the good ones and forget the bad ones because getting mad over such a thing is just really stupid when you think about it. And there are also a lot of people that just refuse to buy said companies games at all, and they aren't playing 1/3 of the games available whether they may like them or not, just because of the logo on the box.

I have honestly never understood why people hate EA, but I'm somewhat ignorant about them. But if I don't like both EA and Activision, then what else is there to like? Ubisoft?

THQ, Paradox, Valve and CD Projekt (GoG, free games promotions, free DLC for all self published games) comes into mind with just a snap.

Yes, I don't really like EA. However, they are responsible for a number of pretty good games. They're just not super reliable on a game-to-game basis.

I never buy anything with an EA logo

I bought deadspace without realizing it, saw it while playing it and said "Well fuck, I thought I liked this game"

It frustrates me as well, because EA has some great franchises, but as a gamer I refuse to support their shady shady business practices so I refuse to buy their products. That's not to say that other companies are much better, but with EA the bullshit never ends, or even takes a break.

So you don't like a game because of a logo :/
What happened to "a game is good or it isn't, who cares who made it"

I will never understand the hate for EA, all they do is publish games, not actually make them. Sure they have some control over them but for the most part everything is still controlled by the studio.

EA has a large list of successful / good games and anyone "boycotting" them would just be ignorant and would be missing out on some pretty damn good games.

Every time I see an EA game I avoid it... have bought some of their games but didn't notice they were EA (Dead Space for example - glad I got it pre owned!) till after and now rarely touch them (I do have a lot of games though), to me they seem to trying to bring the Gaming industry to a crashing fall and are responsible for the rise in Game prices... greedy bastards.

Oh and something that really gets to me is that my initials are EA... I hate it cos I immediately think of the stupid company
    For the Horde!

Yeah, I agree with this, I don't really care what company made a game as long as the game looks good. All companies have some good and some bad games. Can't really speak about customer service though, never had to make use of that other then the once from my internet provider. Oh and GM tickets from WoW ofcourse.

I will never forget EA for killing Bullfrog forcing them to make the harry potter games instead of making Dungeon Keeper 3 i also now days avoid all EA games specialy after c&c4 (the game was supposed to be C&C Arena which made more sense but due to budget cuts they slapped a bad story into it and renamed it to c&c4)

I thought this was pretty cool lol

    Not really, no.

Though I am curious what is it about Bobby Kotick that inspires rage? He's a fantastic business man. Seems silly to have crazy rage toward him because you didn't like the direction of Paladins. For god's sake, gamers, pull your heads out of your bum.

Wait... EA stopped Bullfrog from making DK3?! I was so psyched when I heard that DK3 was being made (Still have DK1 and 2 plus expansions, awesome games! Horned Reaper ftw <3) and was the utterly crushed when I had heard it was scrapped, I now have even more hate for EA
    For the Horde!

I never even look at who the makers/publishers of the game are. It's just not something I ever take into consideration to decide my purchase.

yeah, i just picked up SSX, awesome game, and yes it has the EA logo on it, still a good game! i dont understand hating on a company, sure dont like some of their games, but you shouldn't change your opinion on a game because of a logo.
