Wow will still be huge going into mop exp. even with declining sub numbers and other mmos constantly appearing .
The seer number blizzard has make them the giant in the mmo world .

Not talking fanboy statistics but actual numbers 10 million subs estimated is more than any other P2P current mmorpg on The market.
And unless something can steal 6mil + from blizzard then they will continue to be the giant

Your opinion of the game doesn't matter you can love or hate wow but the numbers don't lie

This is all just what I'm getting from what I'm reading so this is by no means my experience from playing beta or something (I have not played beta). I hear that all gear is just to change how you look so the only way you get stronger in game is by learning how to use your skills better and being a better player. It's supposed to be balanced like a fighting game would be or something.
This is completely untrue. Yes there is character level scaling, which imo is the single best thing ever thought in an mmorpg, but gear matters as well. Consider this - player X is actually a level 30 with gear fit for his level, then player X goes into a low level zone/dungeon and gets scaled to level 10 so he can help a buddy that is actually level 10ish. The difference is that even though player X has been scaled down to level 10, his stats from gear scaled down as well, he still has a much, much better stats than player Y, who is actually really level 10. Apart from this, your skills with your character matter A LOT, so a skilled player, even scaled down, with good gear is going to perform 2-3 times better than other players that are not scaled down. Next, to your other ridiculous statement that there is no sense of character progression - everything you do in the game somehow improves your character. It doesn't matter what you do, be it professions, dynamic events, pvp, dungeons, big world bosses, everything you do matters and it is made in a non grind manner. I can continue this post with another 5-6 paragrahps, but I'm afraid I'm going to totally break the NDA, so please be more informed when making such statements about something you clearly have no clue about.

Destroy "all" MMO records? Farmville has 60+ million active accounts. It's considered a browser MMO, but is still an MMO.

I can guarantee you that each person who plays farmville has at least 4-5 accounts to send them selves items when no one else will.

Yet all I ever hear is bullshit about how evil Blizzard is. It is absurd.

    ---------- Post added 2012-04-13 at 08:50 AM ----------

Who? This is a serious question. Not one single new mmo that has been released in the past year or anything coming out this year is going to innovate anything. It is more of the same old tired hotkey mmos. I love how people demonize Blizzard for not innovating anything but the problem is no other company is either. Until that changes the market for mmos is going to continue to stagnate and no game is going to get groundbreaking amounts of subscriptions no matter who holy grail gimmicks it has.

How exactly is an entirely new continent and new lore running out of ideas?

635 posts and you omit important words from other posts. Tsk, tsk.

    Original. O-r-i-g-i-n-a-l ideas ...

And what would you consider original? I keep hearing people spout this nonsense about Blizzard is out of ideas yet never ever actually suggest anything Blizzard could have done instead. Sounds like it is the players that are out of ideas here.

Nah, there's too many good MMOs out there today for the game to be able to sustain such a high sub count. Let's not forget that WoW had pretty much no valid competition for a long period of it's run and now we have atleast two that'll take a chunk of the base, and a third that is bringing up the rear.

seriously.. not even joking.. do you people realize the power of Pokemon?

what's a bigger franchise than Pokemon?

    Disney

    that's about it..

I think MoP will go down as the single greatest mmo experience in gaming history

    I'm talking 15-20million subs!!

POKEMON people! and Pandas! you know China will be playing.. every billion household will probably have a sub to be a Panda

Pokemon puts it over the top

and before you think this thread is a joke.. I'm dead serious

ask yourselves.. what's bigger than Pokemon?

it's a huge franchise.. it honest to god is if you people didn't know ask any child about Pokemon and they will know.. hell, all my nieces and nephews bug me about pokemon gifts nonstop -.-

just some thoughts.. although unsubbed, I personally think MoP will be so succesful it'll blow people's minds away
If Blizz advertises on Cartoon Network of Nick then its going to blow up I bet XD

Aye... lets hope they don't screw it up, Cata was a mess. Although they're going back to the Wrath mentality of things, such as Heroics being easy mode (Utgarde Heroic in 9 mins anyone?!?) and raids being more accessible.

I can see this happening. At least for a while.
People will come back to at least check it out.

...erm... you don't frequent the official forums (or these) often, do you?

They're FILLED with a ton of ideas... from Player housing to Guild Airships to racing tracks to tons of archaeology/fishing adjustments.

Trust me, the players are FULL of ideas for Blizzard and often vocalize them.

Even Crapaclysm gained sub at launch. MoP will break another record. If they keep that susbs or lose them, it depends if the game is a huge success like TBC/Wrath, or a huge failure like Crapaclysm.
