is there going to be a final fantasy 13-3? i just finished 2 and its quite the cliffhanger lol

Note: This tuesday there releasing a Lightning DLC and Snow DLC i have a feeling the lightning dlc will lead to a 13-3
Another Note: At the end of the lightning dlc it pretty much confirms another game

From what I've heard, no. Supposedly there is DLC coming in May that explains the ending but afaik, no 13-3. I know I was pretty disappointed in the ending myself and hearing that the only way to find out what happens is through DLC was even more of a let down. (I made the mistake of getting the game for my 360 instead of my PS3 and my 360 can't connect to the internet with where my entertainment center is..)

I'll get flamed for this but I seriously hope not. If Square is releasing DLC that explains the ending when it shouldn't be DLC in the first place, why buy another sequel? You'll just end up encouraging Square to keep pulling the same stunt.

Are there any plans announced for a FF XV? That might play a role. I'm not really informed though

There should be, releasing a game with "to be continued" only to have it continued and concluded with DLC is like releasing a movie in theaters ending with "to be continued" and only getting to see it continued and concluded on the blu-ray extended cut. Still curious about the FF 13-3 domain name they registered.

As far as I recall domain name was registered as a precaution. Maybe DLC ending XIII would be for the best so we can finally move on to XV.

edit: i just reread that and i am completely wrong here but i dont think they would make a ff XV yet considering the mmo is still alive?

Some time ago, IGN reported that Square Enix had registered the domain ff13-3.com (or something like that) through one of their subsidiary companies. According to IGN they had used the same company before and the timing of registration fit with previous game releases and domain registrations. Hopefully there will be a FF13-3 game. They can't start the series off with such an incredible story (FF13) and an amazing protagonist, only to end it with a shitty, confusing ghost of a story compared to it and not even bringing the main protagonist in as a playable character (Lightning as a companion and a few scenes where you can choose some attacks for her, does NOT count).

Not a chance I will ever buy a Square Enix game again if they don't finish it off in a spectacular way, just like it deserves.

Square gave up superb storytelling in FFX, instead going with 'cliche/average'.

OT: I've heard no. I'd prefer, honestly, to see them finally move on, instead of dwelling on FF13 like they did 7.

Yeah, they spent way too much time on 7 and 13 seems to be a repeat of this.

The "To be continued..." is for the alternate endings. The 100% ending is the true ending.

I hope not. They need to fix their shit and stop making subpar/terrible games. (By that I mean in the Final Fantasy series)

Oh how god tier companies fall so low, like Rare.

I was about to correct you and say next would be XIV, but I'm glad I looked it up first so I didn't look like an idiot. Is the mmo any good? I still haven't finished either of the 13's, but I'm bad about finishing games. In fact, I have about 5 games that I've bought and still haven't opened. Probably half my games I've played for an hour, maybe 2, then they sit there.

It was complete and utter garbage at launch, and they said they fixed a lot now but I don't think anyone cares

Actually that's what I heard 100% end is the true/good ending. While ending most people are getting is the normal ending, for which DLC is coming out. The bad ending I guess the one you can get in the future New Bodhum. I remember the first Disgaea had something like this where you pretty much get a normal ending on a normal play through while for true/best ending you would need to do something special (well make sure you don't do something).

I'd say no more FF XIII, except for the DLCs.
Really hope they'll make a good XV with a story that's as good as the older titles... the ones from XIII and XIII-2 were kinda weird >_>

I'm more interested in a more exciting combat system and classes. Storywise I think it was pretty cool.

The combat system is the best in the series.

god i hope not. FF13 has some of the most irritating and boring characters ever. i barely finished 13, and after 6 or 7 hours of 13-2 i just couldn't handle it anymore. the combat systems balls too, auto-battle just for fast pased CoD-type gameplay ftl.
