Freind Cheated on Test, Teacher forced him to fix his class room for 6

So a freind of mine cheated on a test we did (we're in 9th grade, so last year of school before gymnasium starts) and then the teacher saw that something was wrong with his test and looked it up, and saw it was all fake. The teacher yelled at him like a... I don't know even the word for that. He did the same test the same day and scored A on it but still the teacher is forcing him to sweep and dry and clean his class room, EVERY DAY after school for 6 weeks.

Is the Teacher Right or Wrong to do that? Tell me what you think!

Detention is one thing, but physical labour isn't something he should be doing, and while i agree he should get some punishment for what he did... But then again i never did get along with authority figures, i just went home when i was supposed to have detention <.<; (and for those of you who say the police come get you, that is true, they get you, bring you to school, they leave, you leave, repeat until the message gets across)

Sadly, it was because he hadn't studied for the test and was unsure what to do the night before the test... so he cheated with wikipedia info, not really smart.

On topic, depends on many things... It sounds unfair but dependent on the school they might have some no-tolerance rules towards this and your friend is getting off easy? remember it is not actually work "for" your teacher since that person doesn't own the classroom and your friend is just getting a life lesson from an old-school teacher that think physical labor punishment is still viable teaching methods.

I'm from Sweden actually, and it's not really illegal here because of a new School Law here that was implemented last year. But it is only 1 week and not more, so yes it is true.

It's perfectly viable...and it's hardly physical labor...sweep the floor and clean the boards oh god. It's less about having the place clean and more about having the kid remember WHY he is doing what he is doing.
