    There is no open beta. Open beta means anyone can sign up whenever they want. It's a closed beta when you need an invitation or a code to get in.

    I don't get the launcher hate, downloaded at full speed for me with no issues at all. Issues would be expected though with so many people downloading it, but that's why we get many days notice.

    I too had no issues with the launcher. It downloaded at about 800k consistantly. Which is good since normally I don't see anything download faster than 700k.

    mine usually bounces between 3 - 6 MBps, for wow and other games it's always right around 3 - 4, so i've had no problems at all.

    Me too. I don't live in the US and even I had very fast download speeds. Finished downloading the whole game in about 3 hours. I think the launcher may be using peer-to-peer technology, but it's just a guess.

    If the launcher used p2p download, it would oversaturate the bandwidth. If you haven't hit your bandwidth cap, it uses plain dumb HTTP download, as I predicted.

    Same here, launcher worked just fine downloading at 1.2-1.3 MB/s which is the maximum speed my connection allows.

    It's like 3-4hours till beta starts, am I right? Can't wait to test TESO out. If it dissapoints me, I am going back to WoW, since I've still got 4 months of sub.

    yeah, they confirmed yesterday it would lift at 10am, so I think that's in half hour or so if I've got my time zones right.
