Kids chewing in class.

So for the past few months of school, in my math class, these group of rednecks have been using chew tobacco, and spitting it in a bottle. Of course this is against the school's rules, as it is a tobacco free zone. The teacher pretends not to notice and it is just sickening me. Should I tell the school officials? The teacher would most likely lose his job and the students would get more bad things written on their records, as well as some kind of fine for having tobacco underage. I just don't want to be known as 'that guy', but it is very gross.

So what would you guys do? I need some opinions before I make a choice.

Ignore it, get on with your Maths. There is literally no point in kicking up a fuss over something like that.

I would talk to those who do it, and ask them nicely to stop doing it.

If they don't stop, and you like the teacher, forward it and "push the truth" a little by saying they do it without the teacher's knowledge.

I would go to an official. Do you have a police officer at your school? If you do, then I would go to him or her first, but if you don't go to the principal. I find that chewing tobacco at school is disgusting, and if they do it, they just do it at home.

Stand up in class and tell them "I don't take kindly ta yer chewin' chewin' tabbaca in class."

If they react negatively just be ready to drop kick them in the chest to knock them over in their desks.

I suggest putting on a cowboy hat right before you do this.

Best case scenario: They get uppity with you, you employ the drop kick, everyone cheers cause they think it is gross, and you get the girls.

Worst case scenario: It back fired horribly and you get your ass kicked and they use you as their spit receptacle.

No shot at glory is not without its pitfalls and gambles. GO FOR IT!

If it truely bothers you, do as suggested earlier and annonimously write to who can do something about it. If they find out it's you they might think of you as a snitch.

I look at it like this, it may be disgusting to look at, but it's better than someone who smokes. Sure people smoke outside, but the smoke and smell does linger. If these kids were spitting into a paper cup like kids at my high school did years ago, then it would be a problem, seeing as how wet paper doesn't hold very long. Doubt the teacher would lose his job over it, he would just say he didn't see it.

Does it physically bother you as in make you sick and unable to do your work? If so then I'd find a way to put a stop to it. If it's just you being mad because they're breaking the rules then just let them do it and enjoy their mouth cancer before the age of 30.

It's a momentary distraction. Still, if it really bothers you -that- much then I suppose you should take the 'normal' advice listed above. As in talk to an official about it, not drop-kicking them whilst wearing a cowboy hat.

Kids in this day and age are denied having to deal with consequences of poor decisions due to overprotectionism as it is. Any chance to "bloody a kid's nose" for being an idiot is more than welcome in my book.

Report it. People do this stuff because they think they can get away with it. Show them that they can't, teach them respect for authority, and they'll become better people as a result. Ideally.

The absolute worst thing you can do is 'just ignore it'. Yes, even worse than drop kicking them with a cowboy hat on.

Do it anonymously if you don't want it getting back to you. Just do something. Stand up for what you believe in.

Go straight to the Principal and tell them that these kids are chewing tobacco in class. It's annoying you and it's illegal and it makes you want to throw up.

It really isn't that big of a deal. Theres probably kids who smoke in the bathroom, outside the school building, chew, etc it dont matter. Just cause you would get these two guys in trouble wouldnt stop the whole problem overall. And the teacher wouldnt get fired over something like that. Teacher would definitely get in trouble but not fired. Unless where you live at doing anything tobacco is like "the devil". I live in kentucky and my school was tobacco free as you put it as well.

Just go to a different seat and get away from them or ignore it. Thats way to much trouble to be caused over such a minor problem, and its also not worth it to be labeled as a tattle teller.

I've had the misfortion to work with people who chew. It is one of the most disgusting things any one can do. The constant spitting is not only disgusting but very distracting. I don't know how you could ignore this while in class. I'd go to whoever I needed to in order to get it dealt with, there is no excuse for these people to be doing this.
