So as I'm sure you all know the ancient Mayan calendar ended on December 21, 2012 and everyone is concerned about that. Here is something else you might find interesting.
Well known philosopher Terrence McKenna who died in 2000 did research on the I Ching (an ancient Chinese text) and connected the difference in the hexagrams to events in history using what I'm assuming is extremely complex mathematics and computer generated graphs.
Video on it here
Terrence also did videos on the history channel about this
I Ching hexagrams:

Terrences' computer generated graph:

The I Ching, also known as the Classic of Changes is one of the oldest of the Chinese classic texts. (consisting entirely of six dimensional objects)
Conclusion 1:
This is all true and something amazing will really happen on December 21st 2012 with biblical reference (a completion of a biblical prophecy).
Conclusion 2:
Terrence McKenna made this entire project twenty years in advance when he found out about the mayan calendar to trick westerners into buying books etc; like any number of classic doomsday deceivers have. When he died in 2000 the reason his research didn't continue to gain popularity is because he wasn't there to perpetuate the hype and none of his research was substantiated by real mathematical evidence.
ps:
If there are any brilliant mathematicians out there who would like to take a look this site claims to have the mathematics associated with the time wave zero computer program:

edit: I do not post this in an attempt to scare people or incite doomsdayism.
Thank you for the post about the history of this theory.
