Name: Melvin Geartwist
Languages: Gnomish, Binary (He can't speak it, but he can read it.)
Personality: He is a very upbeat and cheerful guy, who always looks on the bright side of his problems. He never resorts to violence unless it is the only answer, and he doesn't tread lightly on that. He is polite, and listens to both sides of the problem before jumping to conclusions.
Likes/Dislikes: He loves to tinker with various gadgets he happens to find. Who knows what crazy contraption he will come up with from just a rusty gear! He doesn't like forests. Too big, and you could easily get lost in them. Not a big problem for him, though, since he can find his way out in no time with his GTD (Gnomish Tracking Device). He still doesn't like forests since there is all that wildlife, it's dark, and sometimes his GTD can go a bit wonky in there.
Appearance: He wears Red Telescopic Goggles that can be used to view smaller things with more detail. He also wears oil-stained Overalls, and don't think you can clean those, he will just get it dirtier when he gets it back. He wears leather gloves, that are also stained in oil, and boots that, big shock, and stained with oil. His hair is neatly combed, and is sometimes questioned how it stays so fine with all the gadgets he's tinkering with, and all those explosions that are happening in his lab...
Strengths/Weaknesses: Being a master in Robotics, he can deactivate a hostile robot with ease, but that doesn't mean it takes him 5 seconds. It takes a long time to deactivate a live, hostile robot. Have you ever tried it? Didn't think so. Anyway, his goggles also allow him to see farther, so he can detect enemies from about a mile away. His weakness, though, is his lack of smarts. He might be a Smart mechanic, but he isn't so great in combat. He can be sort of an idiot when it comes to hand-to-hand combat.
History: Melvin was always interested in the art of Engineering, even as a young gnome. He got lessons from his father, Crenzi, a artisan engineer. His father worked for the Mekgineer himself, making mechano-tanks and Turrets. So Melvin would have all the help he needed from his father. When he was 18, he got a job as a Deeprun Tram Worker, he had to make sure the Tram was working at all times. He worked for 5 hours in the morning, with a 30 minute lunch break. His worst days were when the Tram was stuck in the middle and he had to unclog whatever was clogging it. Those were not his brightest days, but he still stuck through it all. In his free time, he made small machines, some of his prototypes being a Silverware Sorter and a Mini De-Toxinator. When Melvin was 22, he showed his inventions to a Machine shop in Ironforge, the Shopkeeper loved them, and asked if he wanted to have a job at his store. Melvin agreed, and became a inventor for Gadgets n' Doodads, a small shop in Ironforge, and still is to this day.
