Blizzard making a new, free-to-play game??

On their website they were hiring for both their unannounced MMO (Titan) and another project.

We knew they had two games down the pipe for a while, but this is the first time they vocalized about them. We've heard offhand things about Titan, but now it's in their press releases. Question is, which one is Titan and which one is the other project?

Maybe this will finally shut down the people insisting Wow will go free to play to take advantage of that market. It makes far more sense for Blizzard to develop a new franchise for free to play.

Well, according to the leaked Blizzards plans, Titan was going to be launched in 2013? or end of 2012? Now they announced that they are making a F2P and an MMORPG. I highly doubt Blizzard would make "Titan" a Free to Play game. The announcement said MMORPG in 2012 and not MMOFPS. So my GUESS is that "Titan" will be an MMORPG and not MMOFPS (MMOFPS is just wierd, imo)

some of the most popular online games spawn from mods.

Counterstrike was originally just a mod for half life made by some random people.

Portal was not expected to be the hit it was, created by a couple of people fresh out of university/colledge/school/whatever.

Doubt that the F2P in this case is DotA, as it's listed under SC2, but I could be wrong. ^^

That chart is old then, since it's not that long ago they stated that Blizz Dota would be a stand alone game. It *was* however intended to be something they'd add in to SC2.

Actually, equip a bow or a fireball'ish spell and Skyrim becomes a true fps. Just without automatic weapons.
