I'm curious...
Right now the Diablo 2 market has a pretty low demand especially on the brink of D3. However, on d2jsp you can still see people buying "fg" and trading for items. After a quick look I noticed some high end war travs for 30fg, perfect tals armor for 100fg, and a SoJ for 50fg. Respectively these would sell for $.03, $1, $.05. Seeing how Diablo 3 is breaking all kinds of pre-order records I don't doubt the market will be absolutely flooded with people thinking they'll make a buck.
Has anyone actually done any type of economic study to see if this real-money AH will even work? I'm really curious what the prices will look like for a legendary item that has dropped 800 times in our first weekend. If a very rare, perfect Tal armor is hardly worth $1 what makes us so sure we'll be able to sell anything for more than that when Diablo 3 is at peak numbers.
(This of course negating the fact that the first 1-10 drops will try to be sold for $14,000)
