LOTR series.
Alien series.
Bourne trilogy.
Pulp Fiction.
Godfather series.
So many others I really really want, you can't limit it to 5, it'd have to be at least 50.

Lord of the Rings
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Winds
Braveheart
The Sting
True Romance
I highly doubt these will be the movies I pick when it comes to that, though. This list wouldn't have looked the same five years ago, and I doubt it will look the same five years from now.
Lord of the Rings
Back to the Future
Star Wars
The King's Speech
The Hobbit (even though it's not out yet)

1st. Neverending Story.. I mean, wow.. Just WOW!
2nd. The Harry Potter series. Because despite of awful acting, they are amongst the best pictures ever produced in my opinion purely due to the fact that I enjoyed them as much as I did, and still do.
3rd. It. Cause it's scary as hell! I still remember how freaked out I was when I watched it the first time as a kid. And it still scares me.
4th. Star Wars series, just because.
5th. Insidious, because it's the only one that comes to mind.
Hopefully my future children will share, at least some, of my taste in movies. And they will be happy with my list.
"Fame was like a drug. But what was even more like a drug were the drugs."
1. Fox and the Hound
2. Hurtlocker
3. The Avengers
4. LoTR (even though it's a series I have to!)
5. MIB (another series, but I grew up to the first two and can't wait for the 3rd)
The first 5 Pokemon movies
Movies for my kids?
Can't decide between Faces of Death 1-5 and North Pole 1-5.
The Lion King
LOTR
Star Wars (original trilogy, unedited)
Forrest Gump
The Avengers (and movies before it) to show them what good, fun super hero movies are supposed to be like.
If I only had 5 to choose from, they would probably all be educational/documentary. This might sound horrible to some, but I don't think the current film culture is worth preserving in the long term. Only 5... they would have to be more than entertainment.
Jurassic Park
Star Wars (at least episodes IV-VI)
Band of Brothers series
Indiana Jones
Lord of the Rings
1. Pulp Fiction
2. Rocky Horror Picture Show
3.The Matrix
4.One Flew Over the Cukcoo's Nest
5.Space Jam (ofc)
1. Fight Club
2. Pulp Fiction
3. Inception
4. Forrest Gump
5. Crazy, Stupid, Love.

I like how people mention Aliens movie all the time, good to make your children nightmares I guess
Easy.
1. Star Wars
2. LOTR Trilogy
3. Saving Private Ryan
4. Toy Story
5. Neverending Story
cant believe nobody said ipman yet
1. usual suspects
2. Snatch (or lockstock still hesitating)
3. alien (and aliens aswell ) (and prometheus when it comes out !!!! )
4. goodfellas
5. inception
I would choose;
Gone with the Wind - epic movie
The Sound of Music - How can you not love it?
The Lion King - the music, so good
Harry Potter series - Great acting, great story
Star Trek - the future can be good
The Police Academy (the whole series): Because I loved those as a kid, even the horrible number 7.
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind: Both for the message and to learn to appreciate Miyazaki.
12 Angry Men (the original version): A powerful lesson about how we are too quick to judge, and a great movie.
In the Mood for Love: For the awesome atmosphere, the beauty and... I should probably not spoil it. :>
Rashomon: Yet again an important lesson about human nature, truth and lies.
I wish I had enough room for a so-bad-it's-good movie, but alas...
I guess it depends, I don't really like horror movies now but I remember me as a 7 year old crying because the ticketguy didn't let me watch Aliens 2 by myself, in the end my mom bought a 2nd ticket for herself and then it was allowed even if she didn't watch the movie :P
I had a love-hate relationship with 80s horror when I was little, I watched all the classics from the age of 5 and yes I got nightmares from them but it didn't keep me from watching them
