[EU] The lag is unbearable :(

Seriously 450+ms up to 1500ms when in combat is just ridiculous. In LoL for example, I'm getting 110-135ms

It's been Almost a week now and still no improvement. Frankly, I was really excited for this game and the game itself is amazing but it is plagued with technical problems.

Shouldn't blizzard have anticipated the number of people who're going to buy their game? I mean they already had 1.2 million copies from the Annual Pass alone.

Sorry about the rant but it's been a week and still ZERO improvements have been made to their servers.

Say what? I run smothly even with utorrent active.
A wild guess is that you are running on bad drivers. Update your graphiccards drivers.

I'm normally seeing 100-200ms on the EU servers. I've had worse during high load times, but nothing near the amounts you're seeing.

False, its well known that EU (and US?) servers have huge lag issues from time to time.

Not sure what graphics drivers have to do with server-client latency issues.

There is a 50+ page thread about this in the official forums, so no, it's not just me, and like I said in other games my latency is perfect for my region.

My latency was perfectly fine until yesterday i just started getting random spikes to 1500 tought the worst thing is the lagg when your character gets teleported backwards randomly killed me so damn many times (and no its not mob abilities it happens when there is no mobs around aswell)
Was still lagging this morning tought worked fine a few hours ago apart from the teleport thingy.

WTF! If I run smothly for the 48 hours of gameplay than I have. You are nowhere to judge whether I run smoothly or not.

There are diffrent type of lag, ofcourse drivers have nothing to do with high latency but the graphiccard can not process too much info, in such cases the game starts to behave similar to whats comonly called lag.

False, bad drivers would not cause connection laag most of the times. Many have reported this issue, maybe you are not experiencing this for some reason but many are.

Regardless, there are often laag spikes but 60% of the time its fairly smooth.

can't progress in inferno with these lags it's sad but i hope they fix it asap

Been having spikes from 200 up to 900 MS all of tonight... trying to progress through act 2 inferno but its like "super inferno" difficulty when there is a 1 second delay between everything... Usually its fine sitting at around 150 ms.

But since the op quotes 1500ms... it obviously isn't just "similar" to connection lag, but actually is connection lag.

OT: Yea i average about 400ms (get about 200ms at 9AM), but i have no issues with spikes "when in combat."

Lag has been horrible tonight, like someone already mentioned, my character gets ported back randomly once in a while, spells dont do anything and I've been perfectly fine since the release.

Yeah, it's really annoying as a monk to have 300+ MS all the time.

I want a wider discussion on this. The thread on official forums doesn't answer any questions. More so - Blizzard doesn't seem to aknowledge the problem.

Right now I'm playing with 250 ms minimum even though direct tracert to the server doesn't put me over 80. It wasn't a big deal on normal but so far those 500-1000 ms spikes have cost me a couple of deaths already. And 250-300 isn't that good for smooth gameplay either.

What I'm thinking is - do any of you guys play in compatibility mode? I'm forced to play in compatibility mode otherwise I'm unable to launch the game (another issue by the way). I've only played in normal mode once and actually had pretty decent playable latency.

Today's been bad on the lag here as well, and all three of my friends who I've talked to in-game have noticed the same. Sudden spikes up to 1k+ and then getting back down, usually after dying

I only have that high (500-2000) ms when I play hardcore mode, in normal mode I'm stable at 200-300ms.

Need more opinions. Guys and gals with lag - do you play in compatibility mode or do you not? Let's compare.

I don't play in compatibility mode, and I've only had lag during very few occasions where I go from 100 to 2k ms latency. Outside of that, the worst I've had is a slight desynchronization between when I hit and when the damage is done, which is so small that I barely notice it.
