    IGN rates diablo a 9.5

Paid review? How can this possibly be a 9.5.

The game needs a patch asap to fix a lot of issues concerning loot and classes. Melee broken on inferno, no way should a 30 min diablo inferno fight which is the end boss no include any rares unless you get lucky through MF. No incentive in doing it honestly.

Story felt very short, 4 acts that last 10 hours is saddening considering how much time this game has been in development. Ill give them some credit though that the 4 acts were done pretty well. But meh apparently harder difficulty = more content. I would love to see that apply to other games, oh wait no it wont cause its stupid.

And lets not start with the AH. I have 3 whole sections filled with rares/mats and cant post enough to get rid of them. Its coming to a point where i have made 4 other characters just to hold onto loot and soon enough going to have to vendor. why is there a 10 post limit? Perhaps increase with your character level?

Anyways enough ranting, could have been way better.

Did you actually read the review? The explain exactly what is good about the game. Even just reading the ratings table should be enough.

There is no problem with loot, loots drops plentiful, loot is random. There are some minor problems with certains spells, not classes, and they are already hotfixing/patching things. However, it's not melee that's broken on inferno, its certain spells that made inferno easier than it should be on mostly the ranged classes. The ones that are getting fixed are the mages and the demon hunters, so inferno would end up harder... on par ... as the other melee classes.

You must be a WoW player. Bosses don't drop epics, and not all loot is good in Diablo. Drops are random, item stats on drops are random. A long boss fight leads to a chance on a number of drops, and for each drop it can be anything from horrible to awesome stats. That's how the system works, that's part of the incentive to keep going: Maybe this time you'll get a good item (or the next time). Garanteed drops with good stats is not something you would find in any good game that aims for replayability. Magic find is one way to get higher chance on loot, Nephalim Valor is basically also magic find, but it comes from the rares and champions in the dungeon, which is something you should not dismiss. Blizzard has been telling you over and over that the best loot does not just come from the end bosses. To get the best experience you should go out and explore the dungeons, kill the rares and champions to get the Nephalim Valor buff and then kill the end boss. And yes, you are not garanteed to get a rare, but a magic item is not your random green or blue item in WoW, a magic item with good stats can be a lot better than a rare with crappy stats.

I think the story felt short too, I think the later acts were much shorter than act 1. The story itself was interesting and ok. The difficulty levels do add something, normal was a cake walk for me, but for some people it can be quite a challenge in the later acts. The higher difficulties actually do make the game more enjoyable and do give me plenty more hours of fun. But story-wise, yes it gets repetitive. But at that point you're not playing the game for the story. You'd play it for the challenge, and for the never ending quest of finding the best gear for your characters. (Which really doesn't mean rushing to the end bosses and expect awesome items)

Good items, that is the key. Stats on items range from horrible to awesome. The 10 item limit would IMO be an incentive to think more carefully what you would actually put on the AH. Don't put all the crap items on the AH, but pick the good items, something that you would buy if you were a buyer.
In my opinion that is a very good limit. It doesn't prevent crappy items to show up on the AH, but it prevents people flooding the AH with all the crap that should be vendored or salvaged instead.

Such a paid review. It's a shame that these people can let this obnoxious sickening DRM slip through their fingers.

Id easily give it a 9/10 the game is brilliant.

I wasn't even that hyped for it tbh but over the last week iv sunk 85 hours into the game..Iv already got my money's worth and im far from finished yet.

Brilliant game well worth the money for the hours of playability it offers.

it's ign the reviewers who have always rated call of duty the highest out of all FPS except from Halo.
They are very bias and I don't like their reviews.

10 hours on the whole game? damn i had 23 hours on my monk before i beat normal. Guess just shows that people who race complain more about time spent in game

Man, the Diablo 3 hate posts are getting more stupid every single day. Before people complain about this game, they should do some research. This is not wow, and thus it is not working like wow. 'boss = awesome loot'... sigh, its the point of the whole game. To have to look everywhere for good loot and just being lucky.

Reviewers are paid to bring their ratings up, nothing new, never trust a video game critic

9.5 seems about right to me. Sure there are teething problems, but they'll be fixed and for the VAST, VAST majority of the time, the game is damn near perfect.

Halo IS the best FPS and CoD is the second best one. What would be biased is if they put CoD on the top pedestal. As for this D3 review, I fully agree with the reviewer, D3 is an excellent game and is precisely what I expected it to be. It's not mass effect RPG and WoW control, it's diablo, don't like it, don't play it.

IGN gave Dragon Age 2 an 8.5

That's all I have to say about IGN.

If you look at the date of the review it is May 14 2012. Meaning the review was written even prior to the game launching. So of course nothing will be spoken about the terrible launch "problems" with abysmal servers, multiple errors, account hackings and stupidly long downtimes the game has had this last week.

However those things would never be put in to a game review especially not paid ones.

Overrated. 80% of runes/skills inferior to others for every class, in Inferno build diversity is almost zero (everyone using same builds with little variations). Easiest time in Inferno have DH and Wiz due to exploitive mechanics - smokescreen and storm armor (seriously Wizard can take more punishment then Barb in Inferno, even tho Wiz have 0 vitality on his gear). Balance is fucked over, half mechanics aren't well thought. I don't know what Blizz internal testers were doing, but jumping from Hell to Inferno you leave fun factor behind becouse you either exploit (bla bla bla smart use of game mechanic etc.) as DH/Wiz or strugling in Act 2 as everybody else.

So all in all bad class/skill/rune balance, exploitive mechanics, undertuned act/storyline bosses, overrated random events (there aren't enough of them to call it a game feature). 6/10 at most, worst state of game ever reliased by Blizzard.

P.S. Inbefore Normal and Nightmare heroes praising the greatness of D3, before you've entered Inferno you've yet to see endgame - your gameplay expirience is similar to lvling in WoW.
P.P.S. Game's worth 60$, BUT it's not living up to expectations build up in 7 years of development nor up to Blizzards name.

I don't recall having any issues with the game since launch night, except for the AH lagging from time to time (and I play a ton, usually most of the time I'm awake, yay summer break and no job). I'd give it a good rating too personally. If you get past the initial flaws of launch night and stability during that time, it's a fantastic game as long as you didn't have any ridiculous expectations of it being the Messiah of all games.

I'm not disappointed with the game at all. Though I do wish Melee had an easier time surviving champ/elite packs in inferno...

It's not just IGN. PC Gamer always strives to give decent, honest reviews, and they are not paid for them. Their rating: 90.

I'm still having a great time after many hours played, so I would have to concur.

This coming from someone who has never played D1 or D2, I had no expectations for D3 and wouldn't have gotten it without the annual pass, but I absolutely love the game. I have yet to encounter any bugs or server queues yet in the game. Idk if it deserves a 9.5 but definitely an 8.5+ to me. I also detest IGN though, and I would not be surprised at all if they were paid to make the review.

Its IGN, When has anything they have ever said been worth a shit?
