Witch doctor impossible to play solo 43+?

I'm at lvl 43 now and I spent 3 hours just to get half a level. I have to be VERY careful because as soon as I pull like a blue or yellow mob I am DEAD. Well unless I run into specific types of "bosses" then I can kite them for like 10 mins and kill them.

I try to slow/keep pets up/stay out of things but if i get hit by one thing its like over because next hit will kill.

I have stacked INT as primary stat and I use:

    Firebomb (Flash fire)
Grasp of the dead (Desperate grasp)
    Summon zombie dogs (Life link)
    Soul harvest (siphon)
    Acid cloud (Lob blob bomb)
    Gargantuan (Humongoid)

    Jungle fortitude
    zombie handler
    Spirit vessel

Gargantuan i swap for hex with jinx as well pretty often.

Once you get zombie bears >

Get rid of the summons. Absolutely garbarge unless you farm a hell of a lot of resistance and armor, for one thing. I'd show you my build, but it seems D3's site is down.

    Spirit Walk(any Rune pref)
    Soul Harvest (Siphon)
Hex(any Rune pref. except Angry Chicken) or Acid Cloud (Acid Rain)
Wall of Zombies (Pileon) OR Grasp of the Dead(Any Rune Pref.)
    Blowdart(Splinters)
    Locusts(Pestilence or Devouring)

When you get Zombie Bears you may want to consider:

    Spirit Walk(any Rune pref)
    Soul Harvest (Siphon)
Hex(any Rune pref. except Angry Chicken)
    Mass Confusion(Stun Rune)
Any Primary to your fancy- I prefer Splinter Darts
    Zombie Bears

with: Bad Medicine, Vision Quest, and Jungle Fortitude(if your pickup radius is decent, consider Grave Injustice. You will probably have to set your abilities off soon for Vision Quest, but its worth it imo.)

Make sure to keep a decent amount of VIT on your gear. If you are soloing, you are going to take hits. If you don't have the health to take those hits, you are going to die. I have around 15k health on my 47 Sorceress without sacrificing any stats. I just made sure VIT was always a secondary stat.

Stacking Int will only get you damage and some resistances. All classes also need to stack some Vit, resistances and some form of health regen probably.

This is a big problem with all people having difficulty in later difficulties I think. Please remember, this is not an MMORPG and there is no Trinity of Tank/Heals/DPS. ALL classes need some of all if it. Worked the same in D2 where you had Sorcs and Necros wearing shields and gearing for max block.

I'm currently in Inferno, and I have no issue soloing act I. Sure there's the odd boss pack I gotta skip but overall I don't do too bad.

That's the build I use. Keep 4 skills on cooldown, and spam Zombie Bears (You can replace this with Dire Bats if you prefer).
