i have always been using internet explorer and ever had any problems with it. No need to try something else when what you have works

I was using google chrome for a while. Which is great and simple. However I recently saw the IE 9 preview and figured I would try it out. I don't know how to customize it the way they show in the video, but so far it is pretty nice.

i do not have a problem with IE but some people have problems with it, as it sometimes chrashes.

If you want a better browser ( in my opinion) try Google chrome or Firefox.

I havent had any problems with any of them only minor, such as with chrome if i open up to many youtube vids my pc chrashes ( tried it on like 3 pcs)

I don't like IE because there's so much crap at the top it makes your pages smaller. Firefox has turned to that as well, so that's why I use Chrome, and I really like it.
It's could've and would've. Not could of and would of. Not sure when "of" started meaning "have," but everyone who thinks it does needs to go back to school.

It's all subjective, but I personally like Firefox the best. Things like customization, AdBlock Plus, NoScript, etc. make Firefox a better option than IE, imo.

Leading source of malware? Terrible for memory usage? Just bad bad bad? There is no 'best' but when someone brings a computer into the shop to get fixed, the first thing to do is ditch IE and switch to Chrome or Firefox. MUCH more secure.

I'm betting the majority of WoW and Diablo hacks were on people who use IE with no authenticator.

I'd rate Firefox as worse than IE9, but Chrome is definitely superior. IE9 isn't bad though; I think people are still sore from IE6.

New to using computers, perhaps? It's long been known that IE is just terrible. I say, even the most casual of PC users use Firefox by now. Use Chrome, however. ;P

Mind offering some insight as to why?

IE's too filled up with bars. Chrome is nice and clean, lots of space.

Firefox removed the large top ages ago actually.

Anyway, people generally hate IE because for the longest time it didn't comply with a lot of web standards (so people would have to redo their layouts to compensate for IE not interpreting their code properly) and last i heard it was significantly less secure than most other browsers and Microsoft has at times taken months to fix loopholes after they are first discovered.

Current reasons I do not like IE:

-Tabs show up as separate choices in Windows 7 task bar (other browsers show windows as separate, rather than tabs). The primary reason I dislike this is if I have 10+ tabs open, it starts to get a little silly sometimes. Plus sometimes I like to have two separate windows open to organize my tabs depending on what I'm browsing. For example, when developing, sometimes I like to have one window open with tabs for research/learning related material, and the other open with tabs related to what I'm currently developing and testing. Having 14 choices come up on the task bar can feel cumbersome to me.

-Tabs cannot be drug from one window to another, and cannot be drug off to create a new window

-Lower quality web developer addons (Firefox is my current favorite -- Firebug and Web Developer Toolkit are really nice)

I had other issues with it in the past, but I think most people's hate is rooted in stuff from IE6 and prior. IE has become much better over the years, but a lot of people enjoyed the features that Opera, Firefox, or Chrome came out with first and they have been loyal to that browser since.

IE used to be slow to adopt new features and was poor on security. Reputations like that don't change easily.

Too "heavy" compared to chrome. You can't open as many windows as chrome allowes you to without a performance loss (high or lighter)

The only think I don't like is that all tun out to be the same crap in terms of privacity, if you want you can know someones whole internet search history within much effort. Specially with Chrome if the person is logged into google.

    Bing search, ef that shit.

IE9 is certainly better than 5, 6, 7, 8... But it has the stigma. It's like McDonald's saying 'they're going healthy!' by offering a single item with cold lettuce.

Must've been a long time. Firefox has been the lagging browser in terms of security for years. Noscript went from being an optional nicety to downright mandatory, the only browser where that was the case. Especially if you browse gaming related sites - as crackers interested in those types of target normally attack Firefox, and not IE/Chrome/Opera. IE of course still being the second most common.

Back in the days of IE6 the browser had more security holes than an open bank vault door, plus the amount of toolbars and system resources it used/still uses in comparison to the competition was much higher.
