BSOD while installing Intel HD 3000 drivers

In an effort to resolve some issues I have been having with playing .MP4 files via my on-board graphics on the TV I did a format and clean install this morning.
(Process: Copied all required data to a new 2tb hard drive, deleted the RAID0 volume, and re-created it with a different name. Then installed Windows 7 clean from DVD. Proceeded to install all drivers fresh from each respective manufacturers website and copy documents over.) Now have quite successfully managed to get a single 2TB RAID0 for my OS and games and a single 2TB HDD for media and backups.) I did NOT use Windows Easy Transfer or Windows Image Backup as I did not want any previous settings to persist onto the new installation.

    Problem.

Everytime I try to install the Intel HD Graphics 3000 drivers I get a blue screen.

    I have tried both:
15.26.8.64.2696 (8.15.10.2696) and 15.26.8.64.2696 (8.15.10.2656) versions. both .exe and .zip with the same result each time. I have even tried cleaning out the old drivers (Device Manager >> UnInstall >> "Also delete files") in safe mode.
While attempting to install the 15.26.8.64.2696 (8.15.10.2696) version the BSOD loops, and requires a boot in safe mode or a system recovery to boot normally again. 15.26.8.64.2696 (8.15.10.2656) Seems to just need a reboot.

    Recent Event Viewer ID's:
    219 - Warning
The driver \Driver\igfx failed to load for the device PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0122&SUBSYS_844D1043&REV_09\3&11583659&0&10.

P.S. Sorry for the low picture quality... My camera skills aren't particularly good when I'm on a timer. (BSOD only lasts approx 5seconds, before system reboots. At least it did the first time, so the second time expecting it, I took it straight away... turned out I had to manually reboot it for the second picture.)

Install SP1 and then update the drivers.

Haha. Thanks. Didn't even think of that because Window's Update said everything was up to date.

Too bad none of this has fixed my mp4 issue

Mp4? I'm assuming it's the issue with mp4 not working, with everything else working fine? what media player were you using for it?

To save on duplication I'm going to say
    See thread:

Grab VideoLan for your video player needs. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html

I believe the latest version is no supporting bluray play back.

Not sure I follow your train of thought... assuming you are referring to the .mp4 issue, if you'd followed the link provided in my last post you'd already know I've tried that already.

Mod: could you please close this thread, I had hoped to let it die, since the thread topic issue has been solved by the first reply :-)
