Building PC for the very first time - thoughts on these parts?

These are the parts I've chosen, and the total cost for it is around $1360. Seems like quite alot, I know, but I'm buying them in Sweden where the prices are quite higher than usual.

Case: Cooler Master 690 II Advanced
PSU: Cooler Master GX 650W 80+ Bronze
    CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K 3,3GHz
    Mobo: Asus P8Z77-V LX
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 570 1280MB HD
    Memory: Corsair 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 SO-DIMM 1066MHz
SSD: Corsair SSD Force 3 Series 60GB
Hard Drive: 1TB Western Digital Caviar Black

As I'm a very-first-time builder I'm not certain whether it's a good build or not, so I kind of need a hand with suggestions and such.
Anything specific I have to think about as a first-time builder?
Also, would I be able to overclock with this build?

    Thanks!

Doesnt really matter that much, but when you are investing in a new rig you should perhaps go with the newest generation of CPU and GPU, Ivy bridge is out, which basicly is the CPU series you have chosen but with a bit more juice. It's built with a smaller nm chipset technology which should in theory earn you more effective CPU power if you overclock, or just keep it stock.

The new generation of GPUs are also here, and while they do cost a bit more they tend to last a bit longer due to the fact that they offer more power per €/$/SEK, and in the end is gooing to serve you better.

Now i don't really have any spesific recommendations beyond that, but im fairly certain someone else will pop in and post a more suitable spec soon enough

    edit: typo

So basically, a simple upgrade would be replacing Intel Core i5 2500K 3,3Ghz with i5 3570K 3,4Ghz (Ivy Bridge) as they have the same price, yeah? There wouldn't be any downsides of this replacement, right?

I would perhaps change the RAM you are using. Not sure how much those sticks you will be using cost but
G.Skill 1600MHz Ripjaws 2x4GB http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231308 is probably a better bet. Also as a note 1300 seems high for the parts there, and i know you said it is a little pricier there. But try and see how much it would cost to have it freighted through a 3rd party shipping provider (That is what I did for my graphics cards cost ~100 in shipping but saved almost 600 bucks over two 680s.

    MoBo: Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H$149.99 Review
    CPU: Intel i5 2500k$204.99
    RAM: G.Skill Sniper 1600Mhz 2x4GB$47.99
    GPU: Gigabyte GTX 670$399.99
    HDD: Samsung Spinpoint 1TB$109.99
    PSU: Corsair TX550M$99.99 Review
    Heatsink: Thermaltake Frio$66.99 Review
    Case: Corsair 500R$139.99
    --------------------------------------------------
    Estimated Total Price – $1220[/TD]

Much better parts and a little cheaper If you want swap to an 3570k

    Thing is, Newegg.com doesn't ship internationally. :/
On there the gtx 670 is $400. Over here it's around $570...

Right, unless you are doing INSANE overclocks 4.6-4.8ghz where the temps get a little high. But TBh if you are maxing out a 3570k anytime soon... ill be impressed

you caught me in the middle of my edit LOL give it a look https://www.bongous.com/

the $100 or so you save on the budget you could spend on the shipping. You would wind up with way better parts for the same price

These are basicly the same CPU yes, just built with 2 different chipsets, so the difference is not big, but the Ivy Bridge is probably the better choice unless you plan on overclocking to extreme levels (ivy bridge has a rep for getting a bit hot at high clocks).

To be honest, I really can't be arsed with such services. Can't be completely safe and what if I need to return a part or two? And if I'd have to go with a service like this, I'd go for http://www.viaddress.com/.
