Anyone notice level 50 gear not selling?

Been trying to sell decent level 50 items with stats, vit, and resists for only 8-10k a piece just to clear stash space and they all expire. These arent bad items usually at least 50 main stat and 50 vit with some resists ranging from 30-45. Also my magic find gear isnt even selling for 8-10k. Started pricing it down to 6-7k and still nothing. Should I just start Salvaging all of it?

This is all stuff I got from farming Act I, which we are supposed to do in order to progress to Act II. But when you cant sell anything you farm in Act I how are you supposed to buy Act III and IV gear which is required for melees to survive in Act II? If I cant even give away level 50-59 gear that means the market is saturated. Im starting to think more than 80% of characters are above 30 and more than 2% are farming Inferno. I remember when I couldnt keep stuff on the AH now it all comes back to me. And the thing that confuses me is most is Dex and Int gear. With everyone rerolling to DH/Wiz this stuff should fly off the AH at only 10k a piece but I have yellow items with 100-140 int that I cant even sell for 10k

In my experience, only put really good items on the auction house, and just vendor the rest (I vendor every useless item below level 60, because you can't get inferno materials from items below level 60 I think.). "Decent" items, even if you price them really low, they just won't sell, and it's a waste of time.
    KAPOW!

If this is true, that level 50 items aren't selling, I suspect it's because people are content to wait until 60.

armor i'll only buy every couple of levels. And i'll rarely spend 10k on a piece unless it's super amazing.
buy a new weapon every level though.

I'd say your problem is that your trying to sell lvl50 items.
    People dont need that.
Players that have gotten that far into act 1 Hell (which is 50ish) bought gear prior to actually getting there so they could complete act 3/4 from Nightmare.
Sure, stuff might be abit harder etc but it doesnt become that hard untill starting act 2.
By which a player that started Hell at 50ish will already be lvl52-54.
So even if they need to buy gear upgrades from the ah to advance they will look for items in an higher lvl range then 50.

Most people in the 50s start saving money for level 60, they will buy very cheap mediocre gear for 2-3k but will not buy pretty good moderately priced gear for 10k. You can sell weapons in that range but an actual gear piece for over 5k? That's a lot less likely.

All the stuff is decent guess I will just drop it down to 5k a piece.

I am not planning on buying anything until I hit max level (maybe most think the same?) and I've sold a level 30 item for 100k so don't know what you're talking about really.

I'd like to add that there are more people at the lower levels than there are at higher levels and there are progressively less people to sell your stuff to, while there is an abundance of level 50+ gear coming into the game from people farming Inferno.

There isn't much of a need for level 50 gear. Hell is easy enough with what you find and buying cheap[ pieces of gear off the AH. I only search for cheap buyouts and the most I'll spend is 1-3k, and I've bought some really good gear. Good enough for Hell anyway.

My guess is you are charging too much or not setting a buyout. Most people don't want to wait 2 days for a small upgrade.

Sold a rare ring and a couple of 350 dps weapons at around 55 for 75k+ each, it depends on the item. At level 50+, 50 of main stat isn't good. I vendor any item with less than a 100 and get 25-35k per the ones that sell. A level 54 rare ring with 100+ str and vitality, I just sold for 150k.

TBH, you really only need one good piece of gear at any point in time to get through hell, and that one piece is your weapon...well, for ranged at least, can't say I've taken a melee character that far into the game yet. I didn't buy a darn thing from the AH other than a weapon prior to level 60, and I suck(ed) but still didn't really need it. You don't really *need* gear, especially well-itemized stuff like that, until Inferno, particularly Act 2 and on. Don't worry, I probably couldn't give away most of my Inferno drops for free if I wanted to, people don't want my level 60 shit either...but well, most of it does suck.

For me at least, it's because I'm fully equipped in decent gear, most of it is 59 or 60 rares (with a cheesy high-dps blue weapon of course), but a few pieces are still those nicely rolled 51-55 rares you're talking about. I was in the market for those when I first got to inferno and needed to replace crappy gear, but now I need real upgrades (and those cost millions of gold).

So, the demand is probably falling and supply rising as more people try to replace (and sell) their decent gear with good gear, not to mention that you can still get those level 50 items when trying to farm for lvl60 good gear (gold, i mean, to buy those good millions of gold items). Even if the demand is still pretty high, there's so much supply that you're lucky to find a buyer. I've had a lot of decent stuff, even decent 60 stuff returned, and I list pretty cheap. Only the stuff that I think is really good (and price high-ish) actually sells, but those drops are few and far between.

People don't want to waste gold on level 50 gear.. It was just be replaced when they hit 60.

good lv 40+ gear sells INSTANTLY for 2-7k.

  16. #16
If I find any bargains below 20k, I buy them instantly. Making gold isn't exactly that hard, so why people won't spend 10k on an upgrade passes right through my mind.

Thanks to Elyaan for the great sig!

Now don't spend that all in one place!

The problem is, all the people who used to be stuck in Act 1-2 Inferno farmed what they could, saturating the market with decent low-mid 50's items, to buy the gear required to get them out of them. Now the people who are catching up, who are stuck in the same place, just can't sell the same farmed items for the same amount as the the previous people did. The economy is "stabilizing" (which is all relative) and popular farm spots are being nerfed across the board.

So basically anyone new to Inferno is going to be forced to wait for the RMAH to progress unless they were smart and made a DH/Wiz. Feel sorry for monks/barbs. Gonna be farming Act I now till Diablo IV comes out in order to buy enough gear to get into Act II if all you get is 3-4k per item and everything you need is 200-300k per item.

No, it's good news for a monk/barb new to inferno, as they can clear act1 inferno with that decent gear that's (not) selling really cheap (aside from a weapon). Selling a lot of decent stuff for 10k isn't how anyone's making a million gold per upgrade to progress. I mean, maybe someone is, but gold from drops and vendoring stuff adds up as fast as selling most any of the junk that floods our bags.

Act 1 isn't the problem, it's Act 2 that the major gear check. Act 3 is even worse...
