    There is a new crash now, which kills the launcher as soon as you try to run it, which means they're going to have a problem patching in an update. So if you're not familiar with moving around .dat and .exe files, I'd recommend you don't open the launcher.

    Agreed. This started happening just now for me. I have permissions on the directory where the client is installed and it's installed to the D: drive. Crashes on every start and appears to be something on Arena Net's side.

    There are 2 problems at the moment.

    The first to arise was:
    --> Crash <--
    Assertion: Received incorrect amount of data from HTTP server.
    File: ......\Services\Asset\Http\AssetHttpRequest.cpp(251)
    That's just a server (some say DNS) problem, that can be resolved.

    The 2nd is:
    *--> Crash <--*
    Assertion: compressedBytes <= outputBytes
    File: ..\..\..\Services\Compress\CmpApi.cpp(111)
    This error on the other hand is believed to be in the GW2.exe, and may prevent you from running GW2.exe to update it. So the solution (once they release an error free version) would be to redownload GW2.exe (or use an older copy) and copy in your .dat file to save yourself from another 16GB download.

    Basically, don't bother updating at the moment, especially if you already got the big 5GB update.

    Has anyone been able to get past the crash after the new launcher? Every time I try to download the client I get an error:

    And WTH is it showing my system environment as 32-bit w/ a 4096MB memory level limit? It's not in 32-bit emulation mode and sure as hell not constricted by real-mode or VMH properties into the 4GB window or application space?

    ---------- Post added 2012-06-07 at 12:57 AM ----------

    Holy crap and it's also showing my environment as 32-bit: "OSVersion: Windows 6.1 (32 bit)"

    Must research if probbie on my end...

    Same here. Baffled. I played fine in the last BWE with no errors really whatsoever.

    There is this though... https://twitter.com/GuildWars2/statu...99136116637696

    @GuildWars2 patcher gives me error when downloading last archive at 5.75mb downloaded

    That's something they're working on. ~RB2 ‪#GW2‬
    And there's been people posting what fixed it for them here http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/c...ch_the_gw2exe/
    so I'll be trying everything I can until it works.

    ---------- Post added 2012-06-07 at 02:18 AM ----------

    Some people have reported that the client works now.

    Kelesti in another thread said to add -image to the gw2.exe so I did that and it fixed it for me, but this was after the reports of the client fixing itself.

    Pretty excited here. Im on my new pc so i can see how well this mechanical beasts chews his way through GW2. I went ahead and dialed all graphics settings to max.

    Ive also got my previous pc hooked up, so i can test on that machine aswell to see if there is any performance difference.
