I played D3 for 2 straight weeks, sittin' my fat ass down every spare hour. Spent a good number of hours in the game, logging in 100 or so on my wizard alone. After 2 weeks of playing nothing but that, I got bored and went back to playing other games, too, much like I used to.
What happened to the days when you could spend $60 on a game, and if it lasted 100 hours or more, you were completely satisfied, you were elated. I understand there's not much content, aside from the increased difficulties, but the same could be said for D2, and people talk about how great that was. D3 will have at least one expansion, as did D2. D3 doesn't have a subscription fee, so you don't pay for it every month, it's a flat $60.
So yeah, just want to know what people were expecting. Did they expect that it would hold their interest for another 12 years instantly? Did they expect it to have all the endgame content of WoW? What went through your mind when you thought about how long you'd be playing D3?
