    Kill stealing in PvP?

In GW2 PvP I've witnessed a lot of kill stealing, to the point its all people do. People will follow you around and spam the finisher to kill an opponent before you. Whats up with this? Has anyone else experienced this? Every PvP match people are always kill stealing, I think its kind of ridiculous and needs to be reworked.

It's rather minor in the scheme of things I'd say. Sometimes its helpful to have multiple people attempting a finisher in case they get stunned or interrupted, other times it's stupid and a waste of time.

All in all I'd say depending on the situation and what the profession is thats downed, it can be a good or bad thing that multiple people are attempting a finisher.

Don't you get the kill reward as well though ? (Not sure at all about this)

But yea if you don't get the kill reward or so it's pretty ridiculous seeing everyone stack up at a dead corpse trying to get the killing blow :/

You don't gain anything be being the one to finish someone off, so why care?
Personally I just use the mindset of "well my job here is done, finish him off for me"

In sPvP if ANY enemy dies you get credit for it, I noticed it while using my Life sigil as well as my pets Master Bond buff.

You still get just as much credit for the kill.

I'm happy when other people finished people off for me. Let them be a sitting duck in a fight

I can assume you do get the kill also, i noticed when i got to someone slightly too late(2 on 1 for example), or maybe latency and the other person actual finioshes them, i also got "Player Kill" pop up on my screen.

I don't see it as kill stealing...you still get credit. It's rather just someone else participating with you.
Instead of viewing it as them running behind you trying to steal ur glory, why not slow down for a second, join them and go in together?

Is it rewarding to kill steal? Then they should just solve it by sharing xp and if you are on same team that you roll on the loot that dropped. I think I read somewhere that everyone in same team will be able to loot everything so there would be no fighting over stuff, don't know if that's the system they have in place?

there is no kill stealing, you get credit either way

that is one of the cornerstones of the game

Besides OP more to the point you dont get top score just from killing people, you have to capture points and rez team mates etc.

This is one of the best points of GW2 that some people seem to hate. At least PvP wise.

Instead of "ME! ME! ME!" PvP like in other MMO's, Guild Wars 2 tries to build up a "US! US! US!"-mentality instead which is MUCH better.

It's something I considered a while ago too.....whether the nature of pvp in GW2 will appeal to the majority of pvpers. Its lack of gear and being coop friendly are designed to reduce the "ME ME ME" factor of pvp...and in my experience many pvpers are all about the me me me part of pvp. It's totally competitive after all by nature.
WvW really changes that and I hope those who seem to focus on themselves learn that it's just more fun with other people around. It's a war after all.

This isn't COD. Kills don't even give you that many points. One could come in first in the kill category and still not be the top scoring player. Killing players is secondary in sPVP.

As pointed many times before, devs took a lot of inspiration from MOBA games like LoL. This seems to include credit (including the kill icons) going to the one doing the killing blow rather then everyone.

Not entirely sure if this matters all that much though. As a necromancer most of my kills come from condition damage and "death of a thousand cuts" style pressure, which means that pretty much any elementalist/warrior can kill steal from me with extreme ease. And while this is annoying to the point of being detrimental to the team (I've seen people run off the point we're capping to get the killing blow on someone clearly bleeding to death at max range), I don't really see it going away any time soon.
