    Token check my build thread

So my laptop had a showdown with a cup of water, and I am forced into building a machine.

My only real question is about graphic cards. I can easily hold of on the intel card for a month, and buy a better chip then if there's some leap in pricepoint/quality, but right now I'm looking at the 150$ range, and it seems like a 6850 is my best bang for buck. Does that seem about right.

    Other Items:

    CPU: Intel Core i5 3570K 3.4GHz LGA 1155 Processor
MOBO: GA-Z77-DS3H LGA 1155 Z77 ATX Intel Motherboard
    MOBO: Z77 Extreme4 LGA 1155 Z77 ATX Intel Motherboard
CASE: Diablotek EVO Mid Tower ATX Computer Case
PSU: Thermaltake TR2 Series 500 Watt ATX Power Supply

I already have hdd's i can use, so they're a nonissue. Ram is ram is ram (1600).

Any flags on the play would be appreciated, as well as any hidden insight into a better card.

Edit: Also, aftermarket cooling on the CPU? What's the cost benefit to it? I'm not afraid to OC.

    Edit2: Changed mobo

Get the 212+ and OC some. You might want to spend a bit more on a nicer case. The 6870s are $140-$150 AR and will be okay at lower than 1080p resolutions.

Gracias. Does the case niceness matter for anything except looking at the thing?

The looks are preference and what you want to do with it.
Windows for showing off the insides that type of stuff.
And dust filters lol I hate dust in my cases and from looking at that one it doesn't have them.
And full towers more space for bigger upgrades down the road.

But all in all it comes down to the user.

    EDIT
I just noticed your PSU I wouldn't use them they're rather crap.
If you can drop the extra cash go for a SeaSonic PSU.

Cheaper cases also tend to be more of a hassle to install things / hide wires in. The M59 is a pretty decent case and still pretty cheap.

If you only plan on using 1 GPU you can pickup the Asrock z75 Pro3.

It should have all the features you want but does not support mutli GPU's.

Also, change the PSU to antec, corsair, seasonic, OCZ, PC Power & Cooling, orXFX instead of Thermaltek.
