Criticize the build or parts on at your pleasure I will not be offended, this is my first build. Leave your comments, on the build, help me find better deals. Put all the same items on amazon that i could find it shipped out it cost about another 65-100$, newegg is FREE SHIPPING. Grand Total is at 1519$ at the moment. Please help me find better deals or tell me if this build is good enough, perhaps two graphics cards that will out-preform the one i have chosen, just looking for some expert help. Troll the build, praise the build, disregard it i don't care, just looking for some more info. Thanks for looking.

Might be easier if you posted all the specs here instead of forcing people to click through 10 links.

First off, skip the velociraptor. Get an SSD if you're gonna go that way. For the same price you get an SSD, and a 1tb drive as well

Second, you can probably get a motherboard just as good for less than half the price.

Third, thats a rather small monitor for that price. Unless there's something special that I'm missing about it, I would get a bigger one for the same (or less)

I personally would get a cheaper case, because $250 on a case is just not worth it to me, but if you WANT that one.. Roll it.

The case and the monitor are like 100% set in stone i'm getting them. Money isn't the big deal, i just rather not spend more then 1500$ on a gaming computer because i still need to buy mods for my bike and car.

Well, unfortunately, those are the biggest 'wastes' as they cost more than they should without providing any performance benefit. But if you're set on them, then I guess just get an SSD and HD instead of the 10k rpm drive.

I was GOING to suggest maybe getting a cheaper motherboard (Theres an MSI one that's just as good for like 150), cheaper ram (you really dont need 2133), and going to a few different sources to save a little cash here and there. The nVidia 670 is like $150 more, and has about a 50% performance increase over the 6950.

What Kind of SSD should i go with if i don't get the raptor, and also i've never really heard anything good on nVidia, i hear they just burn up often or have a lot of malfunctions in the long run.

There are lots of threads about SSD's. I would just poke through the forums but I tihnk the Crucial or Intel ones are considered 'best'

As far as the nvidia thing... I'd say that is 100% false. I've never, ever, ever heard of nvidia cards having any hardware malfunctions more than any other piece of hardware. It's kind of like saying "I've heard ____ brand car gets into accidents more" when it has nothing to do with the car itself.

When all other things are the same (price, performance, etc), I prefer nVidia mainly because ATI has MUCH more software and driver problems, and that can actually be backed up.

I see, one last question, what other mother board could i go with if i get lower ram, because im having a hard time finding one that i will like and will the preformance of the computer setup be decreased drastically with the motherboard and RAM downgrade?

Changing the motherboard, no performance change. As long as the chipset is the same (even other one will be just fine, honestly)

Motherboards, unless your spending a TON of money and are unrealistically picky... Dont matter all that much. Pretty much the only defining factor for me personally is, does it have 4 ram slots.

The ram you have is 'tested' for 2133.. .which is higher than anything needs currently. 1600 is the highest* most ram needs to go without overclocking.

*There are a FEW DDR 1866 boards out there, but they're rare still.

Okay, if i inboxed you some motherboards could you tell me if they are good to use? because if i can save 100$ thats 100$ more i can put into my bike/car.

    Sure? >.>

I would just look for am AM3+ Motherboard that supports DDR 1600 and has the stuff you want. I would just pick the cheapest of a decent brand after that

Thermaltake Level 10 GT: Overpriced for what you get, hard to work with. Could go for a chassis that would fit your needs for half or even less of the price.
WD Velociraptor: Overpriced, that $230~ could go towards a 1TB 7200RPM as data, and a 128GB Crucial m4 SATA III SSD. (Will be faster than the Velociraptor.)
MoBo and CPU: Waste of money, too much spent on motherboard for such low-end CPU. Also performance is bad on that series. Go with this motherboard and this CPU for a literal crap ton better performance. THIS COMPARISON CHART is between an i5-2500K and FX-8150 and shows their performance. With yours, versus the i5-3570K I linked, the blue bar would fall back a good chunk and the black bar would move ahead a little bit even more.
Radeon HD 6950: Too expensive now compared to the 7850s (which are cheaper might I add!), which are essentially 6950s but even better. Smaller inside parts, basically.
Power supply: Overkill. You can get away with two 7850s (if you ever want to in the future) on a 650~ watt PSU if you'd like and be good. This Seasonic 620 Watt M12II has two PCI-E 6 pin connectors (all you'd need for two full-fledged 7850s!) and has enough power, plus is made by the top-name in power supplies, so you know the build quality is there. You could also up to the higher quality 80+ Gold Cert. 650 watt PSU if you desire, however the price hikes a bit.
Memory: Most likely overkill for what you'll be doing (gaming I would suppose), so here is some cheaper, but top-notch Corsair Vengeance LP 1600MHz RAM, that is also lower-voltage.

OS is fine, monitor is fine. I have an Asus 21.5" 1920x1080 display myself, and I must say, the pixel density is great! You'll really be pleased!

    Hope this helps!
