I can understand his confusion since places like askmrrobot give you something different. But yes the pretty orange is best. Why would you not use it even if it wasn't?
He slipped out of his royal garments, left eternity to enter time, divinity to wrap himself in humanity.
The sea of glass, for the ocean of separation. He left peace, and for the first time felt pain.
Because the very hands that held the stars were now sentenced to wear my scars.

To be fair, you would swap it out on AoE fights like... spine... but that's pretty much it. = /

Rathrak weapon proc is equal to 800~ dps. Dragonwrath gives ~5k dps, meaning that if you can hit more than 4 targets each time with your rath procs then the damage will be equal, and that's JUST the proc, the additional spell power throws it up over, but its just theory and that's the only fight you would ever consider swapping out even remotely for and it would just be to pad meters.

But when you argue with something, even if you "lol'd" I'd recommend backing it up with data, we talk numbers here not fallible opinions.

I want to go with Dwrath, but im seeing numbers using Rathrak that make me second guess Dwrath

And this is a serious question. Im not a top end elitist player. I have read many contradicting things about the weapons. That is why if someone has some solid concrete data to sway me one direction or the other id like to see it. I personally want to use my staff, I put more time into getting it than anything in this game. However most theory crafting is showing that i should use the dagger, I have also armoried a couple locks from tup 50 groups that seem to be using the dagger also. So confusing

DTR pretty much beats anything, maybe if you were going hardcore meter padding on bloods mode Rathrak would be viable but in any serious situation DTR all the way.

Spine is not an aoe fight.

im more curious about the dps difference between both honestly, considering dragonwrath wont ever happen for my boomkin.

    Can't tell if serious...

But to be on topic, Spine is NOT an AoE fight lol.

I lol'd because everyone knows that uncontrollable AoE is a very very bad thing on Spine. That's how Corruptions die when they aren't suppose to. That's how Bloods die in the wrong place. That's how Amalgs die when your tank is whittling them down.

On top of that, Rathrak isn't worth shit for Tendon damage.

I never said that the numbers would be mechanic friendly, when in terms of just strict DPS rathrak can out perform (dps wise) on spine.

A lot of people would argue "Why would you do that?" "It's irrelevant because no one would do that." but those opinions are misguided, just because no one would do it doesn't mean you wouldn't take it into consideration when running against other scenarios.

TL;DR - More dps does not equal mechanic friendly dps nor does it equal a boss kill. I answered if Rathrak could ever be "more" dps than the legendary and I have answered.

    You just put a 2 line TL;DR after a 3 line post. You're a funny one.

You need to sim it. That's the story. For BiS Destro DTR is >2200 DPS better than Rathrak+DFO. It's 1700 DPS better than Rathrak+H Ledger. If you're a Boomkin then you can use the spirit and so the difference is a bit smaller there too.

I have a lot of issues. Also the post above me explains all. I didn't have time (and by time I mean motivation) to sim it myself but I have seen the numbers before and they're not that large, sadly the DTR isn't that amazing anymore, which is sad but of course since everyone and their mother has one...

This may be one of the most ignorant posts I've ever seen posted in the warlocks forums.
