Im usually not the type of person that gets all bend out of shape when it comes to videos but for some reason this one wanted me to go out a punch a small child in the face.

A New York bus monitor who was abused so badly by students that she was reduced to tears is on the verge of receiving more than $50,000 through an online fundraiser.

Karen Klein, an elderly widow and bus monitor in Greece, New York, was just trying to do her job when she suffered ten minutes of constant verbal abuse that was filmed and uploaded to YouTube on June 19.

The video shows Ms Klein try to keep her calm as the students threaten her with acts of physical violence that becoming increasingly depraved.

She eventually begins to cry but it doesn't stop the students, who continue the verbal onslaught for the duration of the clip.

"It's just plain mean and no one should have to live with that," Ms Klein told WHEC

She said the four kids who tormented her often caused trouble on the bus but the abuse she endured in the video took it to a whole new level.

The video went viral after a YouTube user CapitalTrigga uploaded it on June 19.

CapitalTrigga commented that he "had nothing to do with the video" but posted it so the world could see "how messed up these kids are".

The video was shared thousands of times and provoked outrage among many who witnessed it, leading some to raise money to help Ms Klein go on a holiday or retire early.

Users of the social news website Reddit claim to have raised over $50,000, although the user who posted the fundraising appeal warned "I can offer no assurances that these funds will reach her".

Debra Hoeft, of the Greece school district, said the school was working with police to identify the children involved.

"We do not tolerate harassment of staff or students," she said.

"While we cannot comment on specific student discipline, we can say that students found to be involved will face strong disciplinary actions."

Ms Klein said she plans to return to work but will not get on a bus with the children who harassed her.

Students already found to have abused Ms Klein will face a superintendent disciplinary hearing this week in front of the superintendent and school board.

This phenomenon happens more and more each day. When I was a kid, I was trembling at the sight of someone bigger than me. Now these little kids have a lot of gumption, actually daring to ridicule you, and if you dare grab them or push them just to scare them, you are a criminal for scaring the little turd.


I hope every idiot that called me mentally ill for hating kids sees this video, because this is just one of the few reasons I hate them. Mammas little angel turned into a piece of shit, just because you think they are so precious and special. Well aren't you PATHETIC?

I disagree. I was never punished as a child and I've never done anything even remotely like that and I'm really thankful for my parent for it, then again, I'm female so maybe its different.

And thankfully (sometimes not..) we're all different, and there are always times when statistics and stereotypes/generalization won't work! Maybe you weren't such a rowdy child?

I don't believe in physical punishment either, but it pretty evident that stuff like that happends, mainly because of the lack of respect. Stuff like that shouldn't happend.

However, a lot of people says it's something new that children act like that... It's not...

I just went to the school website http://www.greece.k12.ny.us/contact.cfm?school=7 and sent a message that action needs to be taken against these little bastards (I recommended Expulsion). I'm sure if enough people do it something's going to happen.

Children are like any young animal. If they aren't socialised properly and corrected when they are young they grow to be disrespectful pains in the ass.

I would love to see the school try some creative punishments though. Maybe have them go around in fat suits and 'ugly ass clothes' for a while. Embarrassing kids in front of their friends is one of the few ways to teach them a lesson around that age.

I wonder why they weren't kicked out of the bus to be honest. And I'm pretty sure they could've been reported to the police for doing that here in Denmark.
But I agree with the others in this thread, those kids are/were dicks, and thats most likely at least partially their parents fault.

Yeah, thats how my parents did it/are doing it, and I don't have a problem with it(and I'm polite/helpful/kinda disciplined, so it seems to have worked)

This is some of the most horrible bullying I've ever seen. I don't even know what to say. 10 straight minuets of teenagers spewing bile. I honestly believe that toxic internet culture is corrupting the youth. That's obviously not the whole problem, but somehow, to young people, "trolling" has become the "cool" thing to do. I wish I could buy that woman a really nice dinner or something. Nothing sparks the violent sleeping avenger in me like watching the weak be trampled on. I was never bullied myself, and often was the one who defended them against entire PE classes, but I have to admit things like this make me very, very angry. My heart goes out to her.
