    Pre-Built ready to go desktop

Hello I'm looking for a pre built desktop for my girlfriend. Something that is ready to go right when i get it. I know i can get much more if i build it myself but for this id prefer to just get something with 0 work involved. lol

It will be for some general gaming (WoW, LoL, Rift, Sims). I don't expect it to run everything on ultra at 100 fps. I just need something that will run good and most games at a decent level above the lowest settings. The real stickler is I'm hoping for $1200 or lower including a monitor. I'm not sure if this is possible.

Any suggestions on what would work for me?

That card is not meant for gaming, and will leave her stuck at the lowest settings.

You don't know the quality of these two components, and it can end up being a really big problem. Noname PSUs can end up frying your whole system and for HDDs you generally want to stick to WD, Samsung or Seagate.

If you refuse to build it yourself you could always buy the components and bring it to a local computer store and they will assemble it for you (probably costs a little bit less than $100). You would get so much better components if you did that.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

    CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($189.99 @ Microcenter)
    Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($139.99 @ Microcenter)
    Memory: G.Skill Sniper Low Voltage Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($51.99 @ Newegg)
Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($64.99 @ Amazon)
    Hard Drive: Crucial M4 128GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($114.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: XFX Radeon HD 7850 2GB Video Card ($219.99 @ Newegg)
Case: Corsair 300R ATX Mid Tower Case ($69.99 @ Newegg)
    Power Supply: SeaSonic 520W ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($69.64 @ Newegg)
    Monitor: Asus VH236H 23.0" Monitor ($149.98 @ NCIX US)
    Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (64-bit) ($99.95 @ B&H)
    Total: $1171.50
(Prices include shipping and discounts when available.)

This would be miles ahead of the pre-built linked. The 7850 performs four to eight times better than the 640, and if you want it for cheaper you can always drop the SSD.

Useless to go for the full budget unless she is going to play Crysis 3 at the highest resolution. This set will play all the pm. games with +60 FPS in 1920x1080.

    Case: BitFenix Shinobi White Window
    PSU: SeaSonic Modular 520W
    Media: DvD+-RW
    SSD: Samsung 830 128 Gb

    M/B: AsRock Z75 Pro3
    RAM: 8 Gb DDR3 Corsair 1600 MHz 1.5v
CPU: Intel i3-2100 or a slightly better Intel i3-2120
    CPU-cooler: Stock or Hyper212+
    GPU: XFX Core HD7850

    Windows 7 OEM

    Dell UltraSharp U2312HM 23" IPS - display

    Total ~ $1100

You could add a 1 Tb HDD if needed, it would fit the budget.

i may go with having a shop assemble for me, but what do you guys think of http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/Gamer_Dragon/

I have heard decent things about that site.

I would stay away from AMD CPU, intel is just better right now. Also the parts Anderzon listed will do everything you want and last a few years with no upgrades.
Buy the parts and have the PC shop assemble its the best way to spend your money and you get what YOU want not what the prebuilt company wants to give you.

I would say spending $70 more is worth it for a overclockable, quad-core CPU that is considered being the to-go gaming CPU on a board that support SLI compared to the Z75 and a locked dual-core.
