Pokemon Getting a mew!

hey guys! i am going on holiday and for the buss/train/plain travels i grab my old DS and play some pokemon! i came now with my soul silver , and i have searched the wide web on how to get my favorite pokemon mew , it seems that i can get it in emerald using a gameshark ( wich i don't have)

my question to any1 here! does any1 here have a gameshark , can get it on soul silver and trade it with me in the next hour ( till 16:30 ) or does any1 here have a mew and doesn't play hearthgold / soul silver and can help me out =D

i would really appreciate it since it is my favorite pokemon! i can't give anything but my thanks in return since i don't have much rare pokemons in soul silver as of yet!

I heard through the grapevine you can get one under the truck near the SS Anne, dont tell anyone.

If i remember from being when i was a youngster (rumour is)... in the old games, you had to make a new game and get to the ship (where you learn surf) but, you let the ship set sail without getting surf. Trade a pokemon with surf over to your game where you don't have surf and you can go on the water where there is a truck. I could never get in the truck, though i had heard the key to open it or something was in the team rocket base where all the casinos etc were. Though this all might be totally wrong ha.

It is wrong, if you traded Pokemon with items in R/B/Y/G they did not carry the items over, as in those originals they could not carry items. You had to beat Gary on SS Anne, do NOT let the ship leave, then go get surf. If the ship leaves you couldn't use surf to get to the truck as that section was cut off.

@OP essentially your only bet to get Mew is through an event or a trade.

WiFi events are your best shot. Having a good knowledge about save editing helps too, but tools required :P

it is wrong in that it was just a complete rumour that people made up back in the day and spread around
there were all kinds, like if you beat the elite 4 with just one pokemon and you go back and talk to ash's mom 50 times she'll give you a pikablu!


there is a glitch in r/b/y to get a mew but don't think you can trade them up to HG or SS.
Only chance is game shark, trade, or an event

The truck rumor is one of the most hilarious things ever, only because it is as fake as Lil' Wayne's live shows. I don't think you can trade it up all the way to Heart Gold/Soul Silver (it stops at the G/S/C -> R/S/E border), but there's a glitch in R/B/Y to get Mew with. It's the only way of obtaining it without cheating or attending a special event:



Also, just a quick fun fact: Mew was never intended to be in the game to start with, it was the first Pokémon created back in 1995, and there was a little leftover space in Pokémon Red/Green's files, so the creator quickly stuffed Mew in at the end of the game's production, which explains why it can learn every TM/HM, and why it can't be caught directly ingame. It was later distributed at certain events for Pokémon Red and Green's launch as a collector's Pokémon, and also for Pokémon Red and Blue's release in US some months later.
