If you're looking for constructive advice... I've never seen a mod that didn't use proper punctuation and capitalization. Even if it's not stated, there's a stigma about it - it's much harder to take someone seriously when they don't make their posts as if they're being graded on them.

Personally, I'm happy being a backseat mod with reporting posts. And based on how long it takes for posts I report to get infracted (serious stuff, like flaming), it definitely attests to the fact that MMO-C is understaffed.

I also have a long-expired infraction myself (which I think was a little harsh, but what you gonna do?) so I feel too dirty to apply!

The other way for me. When I report posts, they usually get fixed the next time I check those posts again.

Huh. Maybe I can use this as an example of my awesome mod-radar capabilities, apparently other mods agree with me! XD

Why not just get the current moderators to look over the applications and decide amongst themselves?

If you have suggestions for specific class forums which should be an exception, you're welcome to let me know which they are.

Also, we do ask for input from current mods, especially in encouraging good people to apply and filtering those who look reasonable; it's not totally some "proclamation from above".

There are rules about minimum posts: something like 100 in 3 months for class forums and possibly 150+ for the larger forums like General Discussion. That's discussed on the application form along with other things.

From what I understand the application form is always open.

They posted another announcement on the front page today about how they're looking for more moderators so this thread got revived more or less.

It is, but the information in the OP is still relevant. Be sure to read the first post completely before applying!

Not true...surely everyone knows about the pain and suffering that we will inflict upon them when they join up. Right?

I coulda sworn that was in the fine print somewhere...
