Mod vs. Mod!

The thing that caught my attention was that, even though you can't see it now since it's been deleted, two mods said there was no room for discussion and that they were closing the thread. So it got me thinking, how often does this happen on MMO-C? Is it a fairly routine thing where more than one mod will catch a topic that needs closing at the same time, then both race to the finish to be the one to close it? Or was this a rare occurrence, and I just witnessed the aurora borealis of moderating?

Also, who got the killing blow on that one? Inquiring minds want to know!

It happens more often than you think. There have been a number of occasions where I go to click the "close thread" button, and it reopens a thread that was JUST closed. Closed in the time it took me to click it (otherwise it'd say "open thread", it's the same button). Then you get a back and forth with a mod before someone just gives up, kind of like walking down an aisle in a store, and going left, then right, then left, with a person coming the other way doing the same.

It doesn't happen that often, but see, we're not aware of a change to the thread until we make one, so more than once I've closed a thread at the same time and had to remove a post...or another mod has had to.

Still, it has happened maybe...3 times in the last few weeks for me.

EDIT: Just like what happened right now with Pendulous. I replied pretty much at the same time
