My main reasoning for doing it was because it CAN work. It HAS worked. I can explain this further if you don't mind some comic spoilers. Although I think it also worked in the show, but I haven't seen enough of it to be sure. Originally Posted by Aveline

Sometimes people have died due to blood-loss (and then dying and being re-animated) or the infection has spread too far. I think the reason it didn't work with Lee was the time. Since they didn't do it right after the bite, it was just simply too late for him to be saved just by doing that. So yup, my reasoning was the same as yours. I just had to take the chance. Hell, if the infection spread too far already then you're a dead man anyway. Originally Posted by Zerioc

Yeah. It didn't work on Lee because they took too long. The infection had spread. In the comic (and I think the show) they cut it within minutes of the bite and manage to stop the bleeding. At least on the survivors. Not sure about any who haven't survived, other than the teacher who wasn't properly bandaged. They took too long to stop the bleeding. But yeah, I figured he was going to die for sure if not, might as well go for the slight longshot chance. Originally Posted by Aveline

The later one worked because the limb was cut of merely minutes after the bite was received so the infection didn't spread. So yeah, practically the same thing. That was basically my reasoning behind my choice. I wanted to try it, even if it would've just given him a bit more time. And Lee was still a god damn badass without one arm.
