    Black Water

So I guess this is a new trend, have you guys heard about this new technology where they're adding Fulvic Minerals to water, turning it jet black without changing the taste. The brand is called BLK water. Here's a link to their site. http://blkbeverages.com/

Would you drink it? The technology is apparently now spreading because Lady Gaga is launching the "first ever Black Eau de Parfum" created using this Fulvic Mineral idea.

    Are fulvic minerals like vulcanicity?

I'd try it if they sold it over here. Probably only the sort of thing I'd try once though.

I believe the Fulvic Minerals are naturally occuring and they are extracted from plants, but something in the plants prevents the change from clear to black. That reaction is what happens in pure water. From people who have drank it, they say it tastes completely the same as pure water and didn't cause any adverse reactions. Given all the chemicals they throw into juices and milk and smoothies, I'd have no problem drinking a beverage with just a couple of ingredients like this for fun.

Well it probably does taste different because color plays an important role in how people perceive taste.

and if people drink enough of it do they change colors because we are made of water?

I've seen it at our local Whole Foods. 0 Calories. 0 Sugar. 0 Carbs. In water. You don't say?

It's just water with some minerals. Nothing new.

No, it doesn't taste different. Stop being such a closed minded ass.

Oddly enough I searched Prometheus black goo in Google images and there's an image of this drink as a result.

I'm not being a close minded ass I've seen studies where people perceive flavors of things differently based on the color.

You can give people two of the exact same type of Jell-o just changing the color and they will think they taste different.

Color plays a massive role on how people perceive taste and if you can't realize that, then who is the close minded ass?

He's actually quite right. Color and even information play a huge role in perception. Even asking someone "Does this taste like ____ to you?" can cause that thing to have a particular flavor sometimes, even if it doesn't normally taste like that thing. It works much the same way as taste memory. Ever notice a LOT of fast food signs are red and yellow, or some mix of those? There's a reason for that.

For one, he's not being an ass. Don't be so sensitive.

Additionally, color does influence perception of taste. There's a reason why clear Coca Cola never took off. It wouldn't be unheard of for a person to taste the water differently due to the color being different.

I wonder if it make you piss black also? Now that would be kinda of weird.

If I hadn't seen the water before, I probably would have too. Funnily enough, they were the first thing I though about when I saw the water.

More OT: I've been thinking about trying it, currently trying the other eight billion "enhanced" bottles of water they have, though.
