I know it, I have played it from 2003 up to 2010, earned alot thanks to it, but now U can't earn anything and this game is just a shade of it's old prime tbh and devs greed destroyed it. Everything you do there, end with a huge loss, and because everything costs real money...it can be considered as a scam.

I had played Entropia for a couple years...

It was fun. The combat was fair, but mining was actually enjoyable. Crafting too, was far, based off of schematics that could be found through various methods - making "unlimited" vehicle (and veh. sub-component) schem's extremely valuable.
Though - the truth is, virtually anything more than logging on to the game will cost you money (short of "sweating", but even that carries little value for hours of work - though it is "free" money @ ~3ped per hour, per account). Starting out, you can acquire a few basic items, though the newbie weapon has a limitted number of shots - and your weapons degrade quite quickly. Once it's all done, you have to spend in-game credits, or purchase PED (Project Endropia Dollars) with real cash at a 1:10 ratio (USD:PED) - at a ~5% servicing fee (maybe 10%?).

What makes Entropia a scam, is the drop-frequency vs item decay. Fighting a newb creature may cost 1PED (.1 USD), and yields an average below the expense. Occasionally, one will find zero loot, but ever so extremely rarely - one may find 10,000+ PED (~1,000 USD) off of even a newb creature.
Only the most experienced (learned, skilled - through game-skills) and people that have 'figured' out the trick to mining (resource spawn-cycles), and places to hunt, are able to find "drops" worth some serious cash ($1000's USD) - but thier expenses, are also just as serious.... My guilds' guildmaster claimed over time, he had spent millions of USD, based on the injection/drop cycle, though never really mentioned of his net loss/gains.
#1 rule: Entropia is NOT a game for people with either gambling problems, or otherwise suffer from addiction...



Despite all of this, the best aspect of the game is the graphics engine (Cryengine2) is phenomenally implimented. The graphics themselves, are amazing and perform exceptionally well even on lower-end machines. No other MMO I've yet played, looks as good, or has the physics that Entropia does.
