i know what you talking about,and i feel ya.
i have resto shamy,and on lower rating was fun,
now when you face healer+something my mathces all going draw or some of us quits.
which got me quiting arena 2 play,and prolly game as well.
druid resto with 4,5res and any other healer with 4,5res is just not same,
balance somehow,somewhere along the road just vanish....

also if you're playing with a mage, his job is to kill the other mage while ccing the shammy. Spam mana burns. If you can't get burns off then you or the mage is doing something terribly wrong. Priest/mage shouldn't have trouble against anything other than lock/shammy.

Anyway, yeah Resto shamans are strong, and expecting to kill them quickly in a 2v2 match of DPS healer vs DPS healer won't give you the results you want.

Your mage has bad gear and the shaman probably has good gear. It makes a huge difference in 2s! The games i've played as Frost Mage/Disc Priest we never lose to anything other than maybe hunter/disc (which just humps the mage all day). You can oom all other teams and kill the healer, it takes a while if they are good but they all die. Naturally if your mage can't do good dmg due to bad gear you're fucked, but at top level gear it's totally doable to hump the shaman the entire game and then kill him when he is oom.

Remember in arenas your not paired with people of the same iLvl its your rating. Regardless i get what you mean shamans do take some hitting

if by 'high ratings' you mean 1600, then yes it is viable to train the shaman. otherwise never. a good one will use this to get his mana back.

I've faced gladiators in 2s at 1700 MMR. Just cus theyre 2.2k+ in 3s doesn't mean they're 2.2k+ in 2s.

You just simply can't kill a resto shaman alone as a feral except if the shaman is completely dipshit and has no clue about the game. And you can't oom a shaman either as a feral. But still, that doesn't mean that you can't win a team which consists of a resto shaman and x, it's often quite hard but it's possible.

Nah we've beaten multiple resto shaman gladiators just by training the shaman (warlock/shaman teams especially). Most of the times they are paired up with classes that are very hard to kill and due to earth shield it's virtually impossible. Get shaman oom and he has to chose between water shield for mana or earth shield for health. It's not easy but once you have fiend and all cd's up it's really not that hard to kill a shaman with cc on his partner. Fear partner -> DF shaman and nuke as hard as you, repeat till shaman dies.
