Buying new PC - could use some opinions

    Hey all,

I was looking at buying a new PC and ran into this: http://www.bol.com/nl/p/acer-aspire-...0000012238094/

I am really bad at building my own PC so i prefer to buy a pre-made one or have someone build it for me.
Is the PC from the link worth the money or should i get help to build my own PC?

I currently have a budget of around 500 euro and want a PC that can run WoW on high/Ultra and Guild Wars 2 on high, would the PC from the link be sufficient for that or would it purely come down to a custom?

    Thanks in advance.

P.S. 500GB hardrive is generally big enough for me.

That PC has media videocard.... not for gaming, i am 99% sure it wont run very well on even high settings...

    MoBo: Asus M5A78L/USB3
CPU: AMD Phenom II Quad Core 965BE
    RAM: G.Skill 1600MHz 2x4GB
GPU: ASUS Radeon 6850 or 7770
    HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F3 500GB
    PSU: Antec VP-450W
    Case: NZXT Gamma Classic

Pick these parts from store ur going to buy your parts and let them build it for you, these parts should cost you around 500€ and will run wow on high atleast.

The Acer Aspire will not be able to play WoW on ultra, or anywhere near that, let alone GW2...
The CPU would be barely sufficient, but the GPU is just not up to the task. And be mindful, that these small Acer cases tend to overheat during longer load scenarios (aka gaming). They have an awful air flow.

With a budget of 500€ you will be hard pressed to find any pre-build that is capable of serious gaming.

If you look at computers for gaming, this is what you need to look at (with regards of your needs and budget):

    CPU:
    - A dual core cpu is ok for most games, but especially WoW benefits from either a dual core with hyper threading (e.g. Intel core i3) or a true quad core (e.g. amd phenom II x4)
    - The cpu should have at least 3GHz.
    - Suggested models: AMD Phenom II X4 955 or 965, AMD FX-4100 or 4170, Intel Pentium G8xx, Intel i3-21xx

    RAM:
    - 4GB DDR3-1333 is enough. If there is more, than that's ok.

    GPU:
    - For WoW you don't need that much video power. A low mid-range card is enough (80-100€). But i don't know what GW2 needs. From what i have seen in videos, it should require a bit more power...
    - When you try estimate the power of a video card, here is what you need to look at:
For AMD: first number is the generation, second and third number indicate the relative performance inside the generation.
For NVidia: first number is the generation, second number is the relative performance.
    - What you should at least have for WoW on high/ultra:
AMD: 5670 or higher, 6670 or higher, 7750 or higher (the 7750 is quite a bit more powerful than the 2 before, but there are no 76xx cards yet)
Nvidia: 450 or higher, 550 or higher, 640 or higher

    Thanks Biernot.

These are the system reqs for GW2 from their website: Windows® XP Service Pack 2 or better • Intel® Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz, Core i3, AMD Athlon 64 X2, or better • 2 GB RAM • NVIDIA® GeForce® 7800, ATI X1800, Intel HD 3000, or better (256MB of video RAM and shader model 3.0 or better) • 25 GB available HDD space • Broadband Internet connection • Keyboard and mouse

This is what i have at the moment: http://www.bol.com/nl/p/acer-aspire-...0000010382165/
    (go to Specificaties)

I can play WoW fine on medium, but i'd like to go on high or Ultra, and i played the GW2 Beta and i couldn't go above Low settings or i'd get too slow.
I could cross my budget, but it depends on how far. I want to be able to play both WoW and GW2 on high quality on a decent pricetag.

Edit: I'm from EU, so keep that in mind

I really like a solid pc, but i'd also love a laptop, so i can go somewhere other than my own bedroom aswell, i found this one: http://www.bol.com/nl/p/acer-aspire-...specifications

It has the Nvidia GT640, which is the one that can play WoW on Ultra? The price is considerably higher, but it could be doable.

Double post, but i'll probably get this: http://www.novatech.co.uk/pc/range/n...ta04.html?th=g

Seems like a good PC for me.
