How many active players do you think Guild Wars 2 will have 1 year after launch?

Voted for 2+ million. More than 3 millions is a dream in my opinion. If they achieve to stabilize population between 2 - 3 millions players(active) it's a HUUUUGEEE success.

Very nice of OP to make his first ever post in the GW2 forum to make a poll where every wow player can come in, select 100k or less, and insinuate "GW2 will fail" without the threat of getting an infraction.

Out of the people that buy it, I reckon probably 30% or so will go to max level.

I kinda agree, they're aiming to go eSports level PvP with this game, I guess it attracts PvP players.
If you wish to do endgame PvP you get to max level instantly so not so much leveling. xPPP

2-3 millions sounds like a reasonable number to me.

Do note, I'm a WoW player who has never seen any content in GW2, so that number is my gut-feeling.

Then again, since GW2 is F2P (in the sense that you only pay for the box), it might go over that. There are reports that D3 got to 5 million, even with all the flaws... Maybe Gw2 follow a similar pattern.

Log in for 10minutes every month to check in-game mail? --> 2 million
Log in for 10+ hours/week and actually play the game? --> 500k

Obviously that depends on how much content they add in the first 12 months. If they add zero content, it'll be lower than 500k. If they add tons and tons of content, then it could be more than 1million.
