It can actually be pretty funny to watch with the right mood & the right commentator. The guy who used to do the commentary on the version we got in Australia was Terry Wogan, and he absolutely took the piss out of everyone who stepped onto that stage, it was hilarious. Between that and some of the truly ridiculous acts they used to have it was actually kind of fun to watch.
