EVERYONE has predetermined ideas about groups of people in some way, shape or form. Some are formed from observation as children, some are taught, some are acquired as adults. Some people give voice to them. Others do not. But guess what; not only is it possible to be racist against white people, it's completely acceptable and even encouraged. But I digress...

It has nothing to do with predetermined notions of racial characteristics, it has to do with her complaining how many black people there were.

Basically the spirit of the Olympics is to bring worlds apart together.
You simply can't imagine how wrong and how right you are at the same time.

Racism is bad, I agree. But instead of bashing the ones making small jokes that have the slightest track of racism, go and judge the ones that oppress the poor, kill innocent people because of their race / gender or use them as slaves.
Today's people sense of justice is really damn wrong.

    Stupid, this I get.
Here's the deal. This is a person engaged in an activity where people from all over the world congregate. Whatever her or our view and humor on race relations may be, it is inappropriate within the context of this event.

People are quick to claim that "humor" justifies any action or supersedes decorum. Say whatever you want about it, point is, when one is from another country or continent and reads stuff like this from people from another place, it will always be perceived as offensive. It is not humorous. Humor is idiosyncratic and context dependent, her intentions --if they were meant to be humorous-- were outside of context.

Personally I'm open to race humor not racist humor - South Park do race humor without being racist, this woman is just a right wing nationalist that don't like black people.
Does that mean if I laugh at homophobic jokes does that make me homophobic? If so I'd have to tell me closest friend I can't be friends anymore because I'm apparently homophobic. I've had and have black friends, and am by no means racist. It's such a strawman and a stupid one at that, it has no basis in reality. Feel free to make any joke you want to about me, you can call me racist all you want, I know, and everyone who knows me know, that I'm not.

Dark comedy is a direct descendant of satire, it's not serious, it's to make people laugh and bring about thoughts of the subject matter. When someone makes that joke they are bring light of two issues, West Nile virus in Greece and to poor protection of people in Africa. It's not racist at all, it has nothing to do with the race of the people involved, rather where they live.

It's seriously devolved to the point where you can't even make a joke on your own personal twitter without having a million people claim that you are some sort of monster. The same thing happened to Daniel Tosh about a rape joke, it's just saddening. It's the blatant immaturity that fills the Political Correctness movement that shocks me to this day, people manage to make mountains out of mole hills while simultaneously making mole hills out of mountains.
The immaturity resides in justifying this "humor". There's limits. In the case of race one limit is an event of this magnitude. In the US racial jokes are tolerated within our context, that context is different from an event where people from all over the world are gathered. Political correctness can go overboard but so can "humor".

I had a Jewish roommate once who laughed at Jewish jokes such as "what's the difference between a Jew and a pizza?" My point is, there's a time to take things seriously, and there's a time to just laugh it off and fire back with a few jokes of your own.

Hell, Mel Brooks made a movie about racist jokes. It's called "Blazing Saddles." Funniest movie I've ever seen, and very politically incorrect. And he's not afraid to make fun of Jews either, being Jewish himself.

I never said it wasn't. Please pay attention to context before starting to flame someone for something they didn't say.

I tell ya what. If I were a male olympian I would be pissed. She looks very bangable and everyone knows that the olympic village is one giant sex pot during the olympic games. Hopefully Greece has other hotties so some of the guys who want to bang a chick from every nation doesn't have to settle for some ugly scrub from Greece.

I'll be honest: Ther eis abosulutely NO sympathy form me when a person who knows that his/her actions are monitored (i.e. a 'celebrity') does or says something stupid. If you can't handle the simple fact of thinking before talking, critically proof-reading before clicking 'Post', and so on, then you don't belong in the public eye.

So I might not agree with the reasons they gave for removing her, but I'd have removed her myself.
If you add me on Steam, Skype or whatever program/client I share my info for, please write something to identify you in the "Dude/gal wants to join your club"-message. Just so I know that an actual human is on the other end :P

I guess most of the greatest comedians of our time have all been dangerously mentally ill, racist, sexist, homophobic, rape-approving, jew-hating, genocide-loving, murder-liking, anything-else-approving lunatics then. Along with every single person who has ever laughed at any of those jokes.

You sure know how to make BIG claims. Now back up your assertion with something tangible.

If you don't respond with a satisfying explanation, then you're a racist. Because I said so.

In that scenario, the Twitter thug would be "punished" with a trip to Washington DC and dinner with the president.

Jokes about racism are like jokes about murder and rape. They're funny when the horrible thing isn't the punchline. Take this line from Borat for instance: "In Kazakhstan the favorite hobbies are disco dancing, archery, rape, and table tennis."

Blazing Saddles mocked racism, it didn't glorify it or use humor as a way to complain about how many black people there are in greece right now.
