I'd have to say Kings Landing as well. Not only is it in medieval times so no technology/quality of life improvements, but the place is just described horrendously. Smells of shit, criminals everywhere, murder in the streets, rape and pillaging... Urgh.
At least with stuff like Gotham City, it's modern day so you can just hole up in your room on the internet.

The Party works day and night exclusively to make the lives of citizens as meaningless, objectified, inhumane and serf-like as is physically possible. And they do a damn good job of it. The people of Oceania exist simply to be dominated.
