    2012 phenomenon

    Hey everyone.

Don't get me wrong, i don't believe anything will happen, i'm just wondering how gullible the forum population is.

    Vote away.

There has been about 514 Leap Years since Caesar Created it in 45BC.

Without the extra day every four years, today would be july 28th, 2013.

Because the mayan calendar was created before the ruling of Leap Years, The mayan's prediction of the end of the world has already happened.

Isn't there a doubt that the Mayan calendar thing was even a prediction of the end of the world ?

I'm fairly sure I read that that somewhere.

As far as i know Leap years were made to make sure july wont be winter eventually but since where the mayans lived theres only 1 season, very hot they dont need leap years, ( i think).

I'm pretty sure that when the day comes a fat lot of nothing will happen.

Rofl, what's wrong with you, I'm just going to get blitzed on every day in December someone says "It could be the end of the world tonight/tomorrow!" - I'll be at my first year of university so it'll be expected but yeah... why settle for one day?

Needing an excuse to drink heavily... pah, where's your inner student gone?!

Wouldn't matter as it works differently to our calendars anyway or something.

Not that it matters since their calendar ending has no prophecy tied to it in any way, just a calendar getting to it's end, ya know, similar to the way our yearly ones do.

    What 2012 phenomenon ?

I'm more concerned about the 31st of December, when our calendar ends.

But then why didn't they make a new calendar? :O Oh right, because they failed to foresee the end of their own civilization.

I think our calender system breaks down eventually doesn't it? In at least 1000 years, due to Leap Seconds. Due to this and that we have therefore not made a calender after that time (that's the people alive then's problem to solve) then maybe we are predicting the end of the world as the calender ends?!

We will all pass through to the plane of existance known as January 1st 2013.

Though I do need to ask, does "We will cross into another realm of existance, though still in a physical form" basically mean going out and getting smashed? Because that's some serious planning ahead for a drinking/drug binge date by 3 people so far.

I bet this is going to be locked. But...

I would have chosen a "something" answer, but you only gave 3 very specific answers and a nothing. There's a billion other things that could happen that day, you know.
    "A flower.
Yes. Upon your return, I will gift you a beautiful flower."

"Remember. Remember... that we once lived..."

That spread on social media like wildfire, but it's wrong. This article explains why.

That's so so so wrong. I don't even... (referring to winter in july being stoppable)

In about 12000 years the southern hemisphere will have snowy white xmas.

I highly doubt anything will go down that we haven't already witnessed however December 21st is my father's birthday so it would be quite the kicka$$ party if something did!

People will blow their life savings on charity to get into heaven, and regret it the next day.
