What the Rebel Yell Sounded Like (video from 1930s)

The rebel yell was a rallying cry used by confederate soldiers in the Civil War. I thought it was lost to history. Then I stumbled across this footage taken in the 1930s and held by the Library of Congress of now-elderly ex-rebels stepping up to a microphone and recording the cry. I thought it was an incredibly fascinating piece of history and wanted to share it.

Sounds too feminine for me. I'm guessing they stole this from the indians?

I wonder if some sound theorist could track that rebel yell from the Library of Congress through the years to something comparable now.
I have a propensity for rational and evolving thought... what am I doing on a forum?
