Post Gigabyte GTX 680 Super Overclock

Let's take a closer lick shall we?

GURU3D review of Gigabyte GTX 680 SOC

So this thread shall be a discussion thread on this card specifically, if you find any benchmarks/heat read-outs for it, please post them here and I'll edit them into the OP! I remember when we saw pictures of this thing a few months back..... I had hoped it was fake. =/

Those tiny fans, while I understand the reasoning especially when SLI comes into play, are going to be LOUD. There's no way those fans will be quiet.

    Some points of note:
    5x 40mm fans
    9x Copper heatpipes
    Copper vapor chamber
    metal shroud
    2x Dual-link DVI, 1x DisplayPort, 1x HDMI
    Lots of aluminum fins.
    2x 8-pin PCIe power
    Awesome back/base-plate.

Gigabyte GeForce GTX680 SOC Review (Guru3D)

Gigabyte GeForce HD7970 SOC Review (TechSpot)
Gigabyte GeForce HD7970 SOC Review (Tom's Hardware)
Gigabyte GeForce HD7970 SOC Review (Tech Power-UP)

Before everyone screams like a little girl about using Tom's Hardware .. note that i read everything from every site, as biased as they may be or be perceived to be.
So if you want to complain about me linking to a Tom's Hardware article then GTFO, the door is only a click away, if you want to hold your complaints in about it and discuss things normally then ofcourse you are welcome to stay.

I know it is originally a GTX680 thread, but i figure i can park in it's counterpart for comparison.

You won't need the sound effects in Flight Simulator when you are powering up a F14's afterburners then...

Yeah seriously, I can't imagine they figured out any great ways to make 40mm fans exceptionally quiet. Seeing as how they have to be spun so bloody fast as it is to get any airflow at all (very small amounts) there's no way this thing will at all be quiet.

I like the solution they've come up with, but this is definitely for SLI setups and needs work.

Do tell us how loud it is! :P

If you do benchmarking or anything, I think we'd all love to see some results of that and temperature readouts!

Yeah, went from an 8 year old cardboard toaster to a very nice build with this GPU. I don't run bench marks on it though, but it runs any game Blizzard game I have on maximum settings. I guess a nice thing is that this thing always runs cool and makes zero noise... And when I mean zero noise I mean that my breathing is louder than my computer.

    Sehr gut, dankeschön!

The idle decibels are high Oo only a 3 decibel difference between load in idle...

Skimmed/read a good amount of the Guru3D review, pretty impressive! 41-43 dBA isn't TOO bad, I guess. And once it is locked away in a chassis, more of the sound will die, and if you have closed-back headphones, Shure SRH440 for example, you won't hear it at all and music should drown it out.

If only I had $620. lol I'd be interested to see how this does paired up with a good 200mm side case fan like my HAF X has....

When I saw this three-four months ago, I doubted it'd actually go into production. Noise level outght to be atrocious.

Same! And here we are today, with a $620 USD pricetag. /ouch

Guru3D's noise gun picked up 41dbA at idle and 43 at load. So not much difference but still a bit loud and apparently the fans are server-grade and have a bit of a high pitch noise to them.... =S

The volume isn't often as annoying as the pitch of the noise.
