    Graphics Card under $175

Looking for help in choosing a GPU under $175.

I will probably upgrade it in the next year so just something to get me along.

What are you planning on using the GPU for? Types of games etc

Why not spend a bit more now and then not have to bother later on?

As I'm building a new computer and my max budget is $700 and after all the other parts $175 was left for a GPU but I'd prefer to spend less.

The games I would be playing Mists of Pandaria then some new games like Assassin's Creed and Borderlands 2 when it's out.

Use this. Its pretty detailed and broken into price brackets.

    I'd get this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130664

The HD7770 is also a good alternative (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127687) if you'd like to spend a lot less, although it's much slower than the regular 560 in WoW.

I max out everything except for shadows with a 5770. But WOW isn't a demanding title really....

Thanks for all the helpful replys.
I'm thinking maybe the 6850 would be a good option.

I'd go on ebay and get a used gtx 560 ti for $150 or less.

I just got a geforce gtx 560 se for just under $150 at memory express in Edmonton. Great deal running 150+ fps most times while playing WoW

Saying that without telling us what resolution and graphic settings is meaningless.
I'm going to assume you are playing at something low like 1024x768 @ medium or high

    I would get a 7850

Yes its 25 dollars above budget, but it is better than a 6870 and 560. Imo it is worth the extra 25 dollars above budget

Im sorry, but i have a hard time believing that. A 580 runs that with around 30-36 fps minimum on ultra (minus ubersampling) on 1080p
And from personal experience, a 460 had issues running it at medium on 1080p. And a 6870 is on par with the 460.

So either you arent playing on 1080p, or we have different views on running TW2 smoothly

If you can, get a 7850. It's currently the best value/money card.

I'd only resort to older generation GPUs if you absolutely must. However, I'll admit that the 150-200 dollar price-range doesn't have a lot to offer currently.

So it's either a 7770 on the low end, or a 7850 on the high-end.
